Hey all. The DDR Extreme machine at the arcade I work at died last week. After opening it up, we found that the CD was melted, burned, just utterly mutilated. Where can I find a replacement? (or you can just help me with a convincing argument for holding out for a Supernova 2 upgrade kit)

It's like saying they used the amen in car commercials.
You might want to hold out until Sn2 ac usa comes out.
Or just get the jpn one, because you know... they're the same game. Minus the usa exclusives or whatever they have special for us united states creeps.
Thankfully time isn't so much of an issue, as the downed DDR machine has brought business to our Stepmania cabinet. But being able to find a replacement disc would make things happier (as in not having a dead cabinet in the arcade).
Our tech doesn't like dead cabinets, so he'll probably settle with the first viable solution that comes to him. I just pray that SN2 upgrade kits come soon (US or Japanese, doesn't matter).

Ditto. I heard there might be problems with Betson which would explain why it's not anywhere in the US yet. But the press release on their site says to the contrary:
"Kits will be available at the end of December to upgrade your existing SuperNOVA. The dedicated version of SuperNOVA 2 will be available in mid-January."

As of now we will be getting significantly (15+) less songs than the Japanese version. There is no reason to think the US would get any songs not in the Japanese build.
You won't be able to get a SuperNova 2 upgrade for an Extreme or below machine. You'd need to buy a SN1 kit and then upgrade that to SN2.
I am actually going to be sending out a replacement extreme disc to one arcade on thursday; if you PM me your address i may be able to send you one as well

and if that does not work just ask in the marketplace forums (I am not saying that Ranatalus is not trustworthy or anything at all, I am just saying that if something comes up, there are always people in the marketplace that have them I'm sure).
I got it a few days ago. The tech is going to try it tomorrow. He ended up getting a replacement CD-ROM drive as well (so we don't end up with a melted disc again).
