and Drop out doubles heavy is just the singles steps but teh charts were there so they were messing around with the idea so i dont see anything strange with chaos and faxx having only heavy and oni steps.
Maybe I'm just a bit jaded because of watching the people at the arcade on itg2, but it doesn't seem nearly as hard or "insanely difficult" as some of the stuff I've seen players do. I'm not saying I could AAA it or anything, I don't really like sweating anymore, but I bet most of the regulars at the arcade could pass that easy.

Isn't ITG's bar more lenient though? I'm not a regular ITG player so feel free to disregard me if I'm wrong. Also as far as I know, they don't show the difficulties for HDV on the Japanese machines.

ITG's lifebar is (by default) more forgiving, and their timing windows are larger
this is why I know people that can FC The Beginning Expert no bar without crossing over, and can't ever FC PSMO
Your probably right about the lifebar, but I see people regularly getting 95-99%s on 11's at the arcade. I was also under the impression that the timing for marvelous was more strict than DDR's Perfect. I personally always thought the timing in DDR was rather easy compared to ITGs and I have pretty bad timing for all music games. Yet I still can get AAAs in DDR. IIDX is a completely different story.
