I was leaning towards a Blue Shark 2" with bar.
And with all the extra stuff like Mods for CF and stuff, I need a tad bit of help with that.
My preferences for a pad would be:
Durability
Recessed Arrows for the "Arcade" feel
Bar
Please help,
I'M A NOOB | |

Blueshark have recessed arrows and a bar ( Good arcade feel )
TX6000 have a bar , but no arcade feel at all ( anyway , for the price , they're good enough if you don't play above level 11 )
Cobalt flux have recessed arrows , but are VERY far from arcade feelings , but they don't make them bad mats , they are very sensitive , and probably the most durable pads , unlike blueshark wich " seems " to have problem with the time ( i have 3 Cobalt flux for me and friends , some of them have a very intense use ( public demonstration ) , and none of them seems not to work properly )
BUT , cobalt flux have no bar.
TX = bar + home feeling
BS = Arcade feeling + bar + but horrible MMB service if you have a problem
CF = Home feeling beter than TX , No Bar , but for sure the most durable pad around.

I haven't played at home much in a while. I've just been going to the arcade probably for the last year or so. But a couple months ago I tried playing ITG on the Flux. It was then that I finally noticed what my friends said about how it was hard to feel the arrows. I had been playing at the arcade for so long that the Flux felt weird to me.
That said, it's a great pad as for durability and sensitivity. When I was still just getting good at DDR, the Flux gave me my first AA on the first song I tried on it. To this day I'm sure it can still give me AA's (I've never been able to AAA anything, anyway). And that's saying a lot, considering my four friends and I used to play on that thing every other day, with songs all the way up to ITG's hardest stuff -- and one of my friends really liked to stomp.
Of course, the CF has mods available to make it feel more like the arcade under foot. Getting a bar might be trickier, though.
And that's what I know!

So wait you got the Flux with no arcade mods? I'm wondering because you say it doesn't feel like the arcade. I'm saving up for one of these suckers because my react foam pad just doesn't cut it. I spend too much money at the arcade

I think it was the summer after I got it that I started abusing Gameworks' system and going for free all day every weekend...
Anyway, the Flux was a great improvement over the $15 soft pads I had before hand, and I didn't know any better as far as "real arcade feel" went.

If you only play home , go for it , but if you are use to play on a dedicab , every home mats won't please you , and that makes you think of buying an cab , even if you can't afford it ...

I recommend Blue Shark, and Cobalt Flux, since they are made to "feel" like the arcade pads.

I mean , in the arcade , when you press the arrow , you don't " feel " if you are right or good. It's written on the screen , that's all.
On a Flux , when you press the arrow , it goes down a little bit , makes you feel that both metal sheet touch each other ( and if you don't feel that , that mean you don't press hard enough , and you know that the arrow won't be OK )
