Back on topic though, I personally like the Afterburner... but I've never played on a KOC, CF, or anything other than the Afterburner and the crappy TX-4000 (is that the right name?) and the Afterburner was MUCH better than the TX.

I'm surprised no body else had said it before... EDIT:// Yeah, look here. This video was Chris [from Stepmania team, I presume] testing out the pads back in 2002.
