Default Having a lot of trouble with crossovers...

I mean note streams like "up down right down" and "left up right up" and so on.
Any tips?

Despite this, I am doing decently on Heavy songs.

the best way to learn them is just to force yourself

the best song to practice this would be AM-3P on heavy

For the "left up right up" one, you might have to tilt your body sideways so you can be able to hit the arrows with both your feet instead of switching from the up arrow to the right arrow with just one foot. You can be able to hit the notes on time that way.

Try to use only 1 hand to hold to the bar when you try to do a crossover, and turn your body..

Example:
left up right up
turn your body 90 degrees left and hold to the bar with the left hand only
Maybe do not use a fast xmod (expecially in ITG), use an xmod that allows you to take your time when you read the arrows

I have a crossover problem too:

Normally, I can do 250+ BPM 8th streams with ease. But with things like Paranoia survivor, because there are crossovers practically all throughout the chart, I can't seem to get them right. I've lost count of how many times I failed Paranoia survivor thanks to the ending death runs, and I've only cleared it one or two times out of luck.

I think crossovers is OK but the (left+up+right) I find the most trouble with. I suggest I have to do someone's way and play AM-3P on expert.

Hottest Party songs have more crossovers in them than usual. A nice introduction to them is 99 Red Balloons.

With all crossovers I just keep both hands on the bar and just twist my body. But if there are lots, i'll just stand straight and double tap.

Cross-post from DDRFreak

1) Use a bar if there are a lot of crossovers, until you feel comfortable without it.
2) Keep practicing them until your foot automatically goes all the way to the arrow, and you don't come up short.
3) Make sure to get a pad with either raised or recessed arrow panels, so you don't have to look down.
4) Make sure your waist is free to turn, it's much easier to turn just your lower body than to try to turn your whole body.

If you can't get it then just learn to double-step.

Make sure that you're able to pick up the cross-over pattern as the arrows scroll so you're ready for it.

I witch my feet, not many people do this unless its a fast song, it taked a long time to learn the way I do, not that you wont hit the arrows, you will, but not accurate. You can also turn your body different ways, and hit arrows, I only do that rarely though, and anyone that has seen me play DDR, will probably say I play weird too.

well I can really only see 2 ways, but again do what you want to do.

Also if someone tells you you are doing it wrong, ignore them, because everyone told me that and I'm fine, make up your own style if you need to. Just do what you are comfortable with.

There, that sums up what I would have said in the first post if I was not half asleep at the time.
