Height can make some things easier or harder, but in the end, it just comes down to overcoming it. Cover up your playing weaknesses by GETTING BETTER, not blaming stuff like your height.

If you've got low stamina, play courses or long songs on ITG. If you've got trouble with foot speed, play with ankle weights, or play 10's, or play 10's with ankle weights (I did 15 greats on max300 wearing 10 lb ankle weights once. that was a fun day lol.). If you have problems turning (SUP ITG) play charts with lots of turns and actually DO the turns.

It really just comes down to self motivation



On a related note, I saw a guy who had to have been 6'11" (his face was even with the top of the speakers while on the pad) playing BIMP on doubles rather skillfully. Quite impressive to watch.

A true player who has a certain level of skill and technique knows that he does not see this as strictly a limitation but rather uses it as an opportunity to improve and challenge oneself into overcoming it.

Like in my case

I am 5' 10' and weight at around 70-75 kilos (that's 144-165 lbs.).

I cannot clear a lot of level 10 songs out there (except the two or three I stated earlier).

I also cannot clear Uranus Challenge as of the moment. Most likely because it was my first time to try the song as well as the difficulty I selected for it (hence me not being familiar with it at all)

But I never saw any of my physical attributes as a weakness or as an explanation as to why I failed it.

It's just that I need more practice and exposure to the song.

And that IMHO is what I really need.

I'm sure you'll get it next time ^^ I think you just not being familiar with the song would be the reason to the failure, especially if you can do 3 other 10 footers.

For me, the only 10 footers i could do consistently were Sakura, Bag, and Paranoia Survivor. Now that Sakura's been demoted, i'm down to 2 (well 3 again if you count Uranus Challenge). Xepher is on/off can or can't do, depending on stamina...

The most tricky part of Uranus Challenge in my opinion is the eighth note jumps near the first half of the song, but the remainder of the song is mostly 162 bpm streams, so I believe you'll get it next time I think it'll end up like Sakura though and get demoted at some point... (well, when DDR X rolls around, it probably wont be a 15 footer.)

Actually, does the DDR X PS2 game have Uranus on it? or Uranus Challenge? I don't remember >_> I think it has all the "Planet" songs on it, i don't know offhand if its there and what rank its labeled on that scale... i'm under the assumption that 15 or over on DDR X is 10 footer territory. Uranus does sound scarier than its 10 footer turned out to be, I thought there'd be more steps ><

i am 5'7" or so and i am content with that; being taller just makes you more likely to hit your head on stuff



also ddr x us has most of the planet songs but not all. i am pretty sure it has uranus though

I'll get right on that. I actually need some sort of upper body exercise. I don't mind walking or playing DDR, but i think all that's doing is making my leg muscles stronger but my body is so used to those exercises that my body can do a lot of it with little effort, and not as much weight loss, even if I was eating healthy. I need to lay off the delicious foods of the world too

Winter's rolling around though, so i cannot walk like i've done this summer, so i need some indoor exercise, especially one for upper body as well. My job keeps me sitting on my ass for 8 1/2 hours a day too lol.

ANYWAY, great idea, but i need to put in more effort that i'm giving it, especially now that its gotten too cold and i've been lazy to walk due to that =.=;

As for the Uranus thing, i'll check it out later at home. I think I've unlocked it anyway. If there are more unlock codes for SN2 Arcade, i really hope Darwin's On the Break appears as a Final Stage Pick (random comment)

Is there already a list of all the songs that SN2 has including ones that may not have been unlocked or hidden as Final/Extra Stage, like people who've looked at the game's data?

Disappointing if it isn't, I was hoping it would be. Guess I'd have to wait for DDR X Arcade to play it (since i can't play home version DDR games). Is there any word when DDR X Arcade machines are supposed to be released?

I think my height only affects the way I hold the bar, being taller means I'm not crunched up but my height makes my arms ache from no easy resting point.

Though I haven't felt it much (as I've trained myself not to be dependent on the bar....except during cases of really hard parts or when I'm about to fall or something)
