beginner
light/basic
standard/difficult/trick/another
heavy/ssr/maniac/expert
oni/challenge/s maniac
How do you refer to foot ratings?
foot: "It's a 6 foot song."
footer:"It's a 7 footer."
level: "It's a level 8."
the number itself: "It's a 9."
something else?
I say: beginner, light, standard, heavy, challenge/oni.
I usually only say the number for ratings: "It's a 10."

Total Tokens: 783.64 Donate Tokens | DDR 1st to 3rd Mix had names for them,
1 is Simple
2 is Moderate
3 is Ordinary
4 is Superior
5 is Marvelous
6 is Genuine
7 is Paramount
8 is Exorbitant
9 is Catastrophic (appeared in DDR 2nd Mix Club Version until DDR 3rd Mix)
10 and glowing 10's have no names since this debuted
on ddrmax
EDIT: When we still play ddr on a psx, we used to say "You need 6 feet to play PARANOiA on basic,"
"Dub-I-Dub on maniac can only be played by someone who has 8 feet."
We thought it was the number of feet themselves, not the fact that 'more feet' = 'harder song.'"

I call the difficulties just about anything Konami has given, except Trick or Another.
EDIT: Wasn't Apocalyptic used in one of the Ultramixes? (as a mission thingy of some sort?)

X-footer, or if it's clear from the context that I'm talking about ratings, just the number. "Arrabbiata Heavy is a 9-footer? there's no way that's easier than Sakura Heavy, which is a 10."

X-footer, or it's an X
I still think Beginner was a bad idea for DDR. Most people who play beginner get the mentaility that they can't get better, which causes them to quit. I never see ANYONE get past beginner, and those that do are so damaged by being a 'beginner" that they quit soon after. People got a lot better faster when they didn't have it.

Pure proof that Konami actually listen in to fans and their thoughts.
As for me I just go with whatever the most current games are using...sooo:
Beginner/Basic/Difficult/Expert/Challenge
And when referring to ratings I just use numbers.
