But of course, many of the people who worked on those games do not appear to be there anymore. Most certainly not the step artists, as HP2/FFP's steps were worked on by a Japanese stepteam and were horrible.

The problem is, it's clueless Japanese developers trying to develop for an American audience they know nothing about.

Whereas in Extreme and earlier they were developing for a Japanese audience

It also doesn't help that Naoki's gotten even worse than he used to be lately, and it seems the rest of the Bemani artists are shitting out their worst tracks onto recent DDR mixes

Seriously. He's like a ninja with his personal info.

Retire? It seems more like he's trying to get fired >_>

And just because you're old doesn't mean you can't make good music

He's certainly not retiring, he's becoming the producer for the DDR series. It probably means he won't be making as many songs as he used to, but I'm sure he still will be.

NAOKI's recent work is among is finest; as a producer he's really stepped it up lately. His work is a highlight of X, and NO CRIME was definitely one of the hottest tracks in FFP (abyssmal stepchart aside).

I have high hopes for the series, I'm pretty excited to see NAOKI's vision of DDR.
