Default Injuries.

Broke my ankle and leg recently...
It fricken sucks! I can barely pass heavy songs now.

It's been about 7 months already since the "breaking" incident and i still have a weird limp while playing.

I actually got hurt skateboarding btw.

Did anybody get hurt while playing ddr? lol.

Around my first week playing DRR, I had a somewhat-serious knee injury from not jumping properly. I couldn't walk properly for nearly a whole month. Nowadays I turned the jump off in HP2, or workout mode of HP1, but I made sure my sister read up on how to jump and step properly on a dance pad. OTL It's serious business indeed.

Tried not playing without shoes once to see if it made any difference.

After 3 or so songs in I felt the pads getting a bit wet/slippery. Looked down and the pad was all covered in blood. Didn't notice at first cause the cuts where so fine but it stung like a bitch later.

Moral: Shoes = Good.

I've fallen off a pad (I blame the projector, it was too high and threw me off xP) but I've never injured myself. Or even passed out/collapsed playing DDR. It's like I haven't lived life. o_o

I've been playing barefoot since I started playing DDR and Pump again over two months ago. It's increased my traction considerably, but it doesn't come without the odd cut or laceration here and there. They eventually heal, though, and I've become more impervious to the pain each time.

One time at TGA I played Tsugaru heavy doubles after a full day of DDR, and at the part with the crossovers you have to do with your body facing away from the screen, I literally walked off the right side of the pad, and my knee slammed into the corner of the pad, and it sliced it pretty nicely. It bled for a bit. Someone saw it happen lol. Oh and I failed, of course. It was amazing. Somehow people don't believe me when I tell them I'm clumsy?

There was a time many years ago I played for 13 hours straight at the local mall and puked up carrots that I ate. Between that and cramps, I would have to say those have been my only "injuries."

That's odd considering Mario Party burned a hole in my hand.

Back before I knew any better I played for a while on a TX pad wearing only athletic socks. Gave myself a nasty case of tendinitis in my ankles over several weeks because I had to stomp so hard to make it realize I'm there. I was actually on a cane for a while.

My best story, though, is when I was playing two-pad I felt a god-awful pain in my coccyx area, which I'd bruised a few days earlier. I stopped playing and thought that it'd go away, but, nope, and the next morning I went to my doctor. Turned out I had a sprain; the ligament between my gluteal muscle and my pelvis was damaged. In other words, I actually busted my ass playing DDR.

Ive had a couple...

More recently when I started getting into doubles at my new house (Which was this year) I hurt myself pretty badly. About after a week when we moved in I set up a DDR area in the storage room. I have a TX2000 and a TX1000 connected to the game, so I have one bar for only one pad. When I was playing Doubles for the first few days on some low level songs everything was smooth. And then it happened... I was playing higher level songs and I was moving pretty fast so by instinct I reached for the bar on the 2P side... and there was none. And then I fell off the pad into a bunch of boxes and other items and hit my head on a white cabinet.

The only other injury I eve had was at an arcade. I was playing at Gameworks and I was playing around with doubles. I did a crossover way to wide one the 1P side and my foot slid off and I fell on my ass. I was fine though, More then my ass my right leg hurt more because it slid out from under me when I grabbed the bar from me falling.

From both lessons I have learned that I can not play doubles without a bar.

Ive never had a serious injury, but while playing at the arcade I did play a hard song. cant remember which but I was too tired and started to feel dizzy, I guess I was dehydrated and I put my hand on the cabinet and stepped off the pad hitting my knee on the edge of the cabinet. hurt like hell, but all I got was a bruise. Luckily no one saw, haha.
