You're talking about the one where you have to continuously rotate the analog?

A couple years back, I twisted my ankle playing Dam Dariram Heavy Double. Had to let it fail out, but I was back at it within half an hour.

You know it. I made that damn Shyguy fly further than my friend's record, though.

Man, this scares me into ever starting playing DDR again. I've never actually had or heard of injuries this bad.

Hell, DDR helped me through my skateboarding injury, as it got me to move as much as possible, thus strengthening it, without worrying too much about range of motion.

BTW I tore my ACL skateboarding.

Don't be scared to play DDR. Really, just know your physical limitations and don't do anything stupid. Sure, there are odd instances where you'll bang your knee or such on something or slip/fall, but, in my experience, the worst I've ever done is throw up (which only happened once) or cramp in my legs.

Aside from making bruised toes much worse, nothing really bad has happened except for me slipping off a PIU pad. Landed in such a way that it caused my knee to continue hurting throughout the rest of the day. That was on freestyle, so on singles me hurting myself pretty much never happens.

Hmmm, the pads were wet, not good grips on my shoes at the time, played a song anyways and slipped =P twisted my ankle, after like 5-10 mins of sitting down, went back and played again =P So it was major

So no one else on here besides me gets infected and possible ingrown toenails from playing on their toes? That's what I do a mixture of both flatfoot and toes. Toes for crossovers and semi-flatfoot for everything else.

I switched from toes because my big nail came off after smashing my feet trying to get an Extreme machine to register my steps.....which failed. ><

The worst thing I can think of is the first time I played ITG2. I was playing Anubis (hey I barely played ITG1 so most of those songs were new too haha). I went to do the first four arrow "jump" on all fours and landed with my right hand on a bracket. It hurt since metal is a lot less forgiving than plastic is, and I think it got scratched up a little too. So basically, who cares.

Aside from that, my knees feel like they're being damaged whenever I play on an X cabinet (or a solo cabinet with one working sensor per arrow).

I think I tripped and fell once when playing doubles at home. I fell on foam pads on carpet, so once again, nothing bad happened. I've almost fallen at the arcade while playing doubles, but usually I find a way to jump out of that and land on two feet somehow.

Reminds me when I tried doubles once and accidentally stepped off the pad and flew in to the machine.....it hurt. ><

Hah, I remember my mom not allowing us to play Mario Party 1 when she saw the burns on our hands. Never got mine to get very far, sadly...

Hah, just yesterday, I slipped on the soft pad and landed on my bum. Nothing was hurt but my pride, though. Dx We need hardwood floors, or a harder pad...

I learned recently, by whoring my cobalt flux again, that those edges are definitely safety hazards. I can't tell how many times I've accidentally slide my foot next to it only to get a scar, gash, or scrape. >< They weren't big fortunately, but still hurt like mofos.

Oh snap i know what your talking about haha, When i go to play a long nice streamy song after a full day of ITG, the corner or my fat toe turns all black and blue and it so tender xD, one time i picked at it so much cuz it hurt so bad, frickin puss flew out of that thing, Sounds gross but yea, i guess thats an injury considering it prevents you from doing streams for a while xD

It was a dark and stormy night, I was playing DDR SN. When I did many cool stunts with my boney body, I popped my back out of place, and I had to stay in bed for three days
