Default Jump1: dumbest modifier in DDR history?

Starting with DDR Extreme US / Festival / Fusion, jumps counted as 1 step again in the DDR series (as they do in Supernova 1/2 and X). Then in Extreme 2 / Festival, they add the option of Jump1, which eliminates jumps from all songs, making them a single step. However, this doesn't affect your score in any way, and the game even saves your score with this on.

So now the question is: do you think this was a bad move on Konami's part? It's definitely cheating to some degree, but you do think it's a bad idea, or a helpful tool in learning a song like the Little modifier?

There have been several topics for years detailing the issue of these handicaps:

As I say (and said in the other thread):

If you want to use it, then go ahead (I won't stop you either way).

-----------
Slightly off-topic
P.S.

Did they remove "Little" in SN1/SN2? Because when I went to the arcade last time, I didn't seen in the options menu.

So I guess it wasn't needed at all (since you have Beginner charts anyways).

I have a friend who is trying to lose weight playing DDR. The problem is, this friend is very obese and cannot jump. Jump1 is a boon in this case.

In other cases - well, I can't imagine myself using it, but if others want to, why not? It's not like we're playing a tournament in our living rooms. If someone else gets a higher score because of the mod, how does it affect anyone else?

I thought you cannot disable jumps in Extreme PS2 US.

you do more exercise by jumping. tell your friend to just give it a try...it'll speed up the weight-loss process.

Not in SuperNOVA, in which the only Jump modifier is Jump2.

This is the girl now, with professional help:

YouTube - Fat Jessica - Now

And CS scores shouldn't matter, especially when you always have the option of a PS2 controller to get good scores anyway :\ So this shouldn't be a big deal, IMHO.
