Marketplace Rating: 0 | Looking for a new metal pad. Suggestions? I'm looking to get a second metal pad, but the guy I bought the first one from on eBay doesn't seem to sell them anymore, since there aren't any pics posted that look like the one I have right now
Does anyone have any suggestions for a metal pad which is resilient, preferably compatible with a PS2, but USB would work, and less than 150$, preferably even less? I think this one that I've used for 2 years was about 50$. Preferably the suggested pad will also be about 1 1/8 inches off the ground so that I can do double with it and the current pad.
We have 2 soft red-octane pads in our house, but they both suck. I tried repairing one using your how-to thread, but it still sucks. So now I just want another one or two good metal pads.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Can you even get a metal pad for less than $150? Fluxes are $300 and the Afterburner is $250. I sure haven't heard of one for cheaper.

I'm not sure what the pad is that I have now. I'm pretty sure it's made for PS2. I can't find a manufacturer or name on it anywhere, and I've lost track of who sold it to me on eBay.

It also can connect to a PS2, PS1, XBox, or PC. However, it isn't very durable, paint scratches off easily, and it does move around during tough Expert songs. It doesn't come with a bar option, either.
A Cobalt Flux isn't like an arcade style pad, but it's still really good. It's extremely durable as mentioned above, can come with a bar (I think), can hook up with another CF pad to play doubles, and also has solo arrows in case you want to have six-panel play. However, it does not have recessed arrows so some people don't like that. It also is very expensive. Most people prefer it over the Afterburner.
If the CF had recessed arrows I would recommend it 100%, but right now I say it comes down to a matter of opinion and/or budget.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I, too, highly recommend the Cobalt Flux. I have only had mine for eight months, but it has never failed me. Unfortunatly, mine doesn't have the arcade mod, so I can't say anything about that. But save up the money for the flux, it will be well worth the effort.

Marketplace Rating: 4 | aye, not to sound like a broken record, but i have to reccomend buying a Cobalt Flux over anything.
it was perfect and it only has set me back a total of 400 CAD(with arcade mods and replacement lexan just in case) , which is great for me since i've never had to replace a pad since.

As for my opinions over metal pads, the only metal pads that I have played on are Fluxes, Tx-1000s and the arcade pad. Note: I am comparing to the arcade
Fluxes - I hated the feeling of the arrows. I did have an arcade mod, and it was helpful in feeling my way around, but I just didn't like how bendable the plastic was. I also didn't like how you had to step in the center of the arrow to get it to register, where at the arcade, you can step almost anywhere on the arrow (providing its clean and the sensors are all good) and it works fine.
Tx-1000s - didn't work well, was not at all sensitive, worked worse with shoes then without, POS, don't buy it, felt like it was about to break under my feet.
I've heard about MyMyBox Bluesharks from people online, to a friend that owns one, and I've heard everywhere that it is amazing. I haven't had the chance to try one out yet, though.
