Alright, I started playing DDR again recently and I've noticed that all of the sudden whenever I play harder songs (9's on Single and Doubles) my feet hurt HORRIBLY. This didn't happen a year ago and I wear Nike running shoes when I play.
Does anyone have ANY clue why they hurt so much?! It's almost unbearable especially when I want to play for a couple of hours.

It happened to be after about a year of not playing too.
Also playing at home or arcade?

It depends.
At home, the pad hurts my feet in the beginning.
At a cab, everything is alright.

You oughta slow down, 9 seems a bit much! I just wear plain ol' socks when DDR-ing, but I don't think it'll work on an arcade machine.

it's entirely possible that those shoes just aren't suited for your playstyle

It goes away after a couple of minutes. I'm thinking I might want to switch to a flatter shoe because whenever I play with my friend's leather converse (not Chucks, I don't know WHAT Converse they are I just swap him whenever I have my impossible-to-play-in-Van's) I feel much better. Quote: |

| Well 8's are too easy, I don't even really break a sweat playing 8's. 10's are too much to play right away because I don't have the stamina, 9's are the sweet spot for me. Quote: |

| Arcade until I fix the flux. | |

It can also keep you from sliding off the pad, but once in a blue moon you'll end up stopping yourself with the friction made from the shoes and screw up. I've done that twice already, but I use those all the time. They're perfect for flat-footers. (I iz one)

Marketplace Rating: 1 | Yeah, I use Vans as well. Mainly for the DDR stuff, 'cause they have a good grip on the pads. You won't go slipping or anything.
Although it doesn't really help with leg-fatigue. Maybe you're just getting older? I used to be better at DDr like, 2 years ago, and now I can barely keep up with some of my favorite songs. I'm not even out of shape or anything.

I thought the problem was playing at home where the poor pad is hit by feet who hit the floor.

| DON'T YOU EVER
SAY THAT AGAIN
I don't need that pressure, I'm too young for that shit hahaha
Although I have gained 30 lbs. since my prime and I think that extra stress might be what's hitting me so hard.
I guess I'll try to grab a pair of those Converse my friend lets me borrow. I'll try to find out exactly what's so different between those and my Nike 6.0s (which are another pair that kill my feet).
Thanks for the input everyone
