Need help updating D.D.R. Solo 4th

My arcade (unfortunately) has a Solo 4th machine... They have had it as long as I can possibly remember... I'm thinking once I get an after-school job there, I can convince the manager to update to a Solo 4th +. How do you update a D.D.R. Machine?

Another thing, I remember another thing, In 2004, or so, I remember playing on that same machine, and the arrows were sync-ed perfectly with the music. It is 2007 at the time, and songs like Let them Move, In the Heat of the Night, era (nostalmix), End of the Century, Drop Out, Trip Machine Climax, My Summer Love, Hysteria, La Senorita ~Virtual~, Mr. Wonderful, Get me In Your Sight, B4U, and Luv To Me ~AMD Mix~ are, at least, a good 1/32 note early (((might even be 1/16 off))). Is there a way to re-synchronize the machine? Do D.D.R. games go off-sync as they age?

I remember playing In the Heat of the Night recently, and obtaining a C because the machine would hand out Goods and Greats when you follow with the music.

the sensors might need to be replaced, they could be dying. try also cleaning out the inside of the pad with a vacuum WHILE THE MACHINE IS OFF

as for "updating"

4th+ is a different game, you would need to get a 4th+ CD and security chip

which means you'd have to buy them

4th + solo, is rare, however if you find one they run about $500~$1000 the lowest, plus shipping. You will need to make sure the upgrade at least has the CD, and Security cartridge to upgrade. YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE IT IS THE SOLO VERSION OR...

1. you just spent money you did not need to
2. you can hack the machine to make it run, which is Hard, and not fun at all

WELL there is a Max 2 7th mix solo upgrade but its bootleg.

Does 573 SOLO run on JAMMA? If it does then it could be possible to just put the 573 hardware in there with no 2nd player although its very hard.

Maybe if the hardware runs JAMMA.

Does ITG not boot if it doesn't detect a 2nd pad? Just be sure not to select 2 player mode.

No, thats is a big no. You need to put new hardware into the machine, which won't even fit inside of it. Not to mention there is only 2 sensors in each arrow, so there is no way ANYONE could even get close to passing even an 11. Not to mention it is Jamma, but still someone tried this before, and there went a perfectly good SOLO cabinet.

also even without a bootleg copy of a DDR game you can modify the hardware to run the 2P versions, but like I said its VERY HARD, and you have to get either the 2 disc version or 1 disc, but I dont remember.

It wouldn't be that hard.

All he needs to do is to put in the 573 hardware and hook it up. He might have to create some fake buttons or something to make the machine think its running a 2nd pad but I don't know if THATS necessary as I think hardware will boot without having to have the inputs in.

Also, you could add sensors if you want.

Well I was going to do this one day, and people were going to help upgrade my machine to a EXTREME solo. but you can't so it without modification, and said if you dont do it right you may not be able to fix it.

Um, you can pass 11 footers on a 2-sensor pad. The construction is quite different to accommodate for it, so it's not like it's anywhere near impossible.

The hook-ups for 573 solo and 573 are different. If you threw in a bootleg 7th, you may end up with some button issues. Plus I don't know if Solo uses a 32MB flash card either.

Also, what Omega said about purchasing a 4th+ Solo kit, forget it. You're more than likely not going to find one. Unused official kits especially impossible. You MIGHT be able to find a 4th+ Solo 573 BOARD, which you can most definitely use.

And in case you might want to ask, 4th+ double and 4th+ Solo are different kits. I could give you a working 4th+ double bootleg kit, but it wouldn't do you a whole lot of good except for 4-panel charts.

You don't understand how many times I have tried convincing the management to buy a new machine, but as long as I am only user, the Solo machine stays... Solo
SOLO 4th + Upgrades must be available somewhere ... I know of an arcade that just got rid of their Solo 4th +.
