When they get here, I'll be reviewing them in this thread, but as my perfect attack ability is severely lacking, I think it would be great to have some reviews by other early adopters as well (hint, hint).
In the meantime, this seems like as good a place of any to speculate about how good they will or won't be, whether they will or won't come out on time, and whether I will or won't regret not getting a pair of CFs.

Reason: spelling fix, title change.

Total Tokens: 75,066.94 Donate Tokens | It's here! -- and disappointing. Doesn't seem like a v1 product - more like a v0.573.
Got my Nexens yesterday. Pulled them out of the box today - they look great except that the stencils (?) used for the A and B "arrows" were apparently defective so those buttons have some paint missing.
Unfortunately, I very quickly found that one of them appears to have a defective connector plate. It may have come loose during shipment - certainly the box was damaged enough when I finally wrangled it away from FedEx. Anyway, said connector is "springy" - I tried to attach the included PS2 cable to it and within 30 seconds of non-play it had popped back out. I have to duct tape the cable in place to get any signal at all through from the pad - not an ideal solution!
I'll give a more thorough review after I've contacted customer service and seen what can be done to salvage it. In the meantime - anyone else gotten theirs and fared better?

After taping the cable down, how is it?

Total Tokens: 78.51 Donate Tokens | I got my Nexen yesterday, and I've got a question. I've never bought an expensive metal pad before... but aren't the pads supposed to be so close together you can't see space between them? They're noticeably misaligned in places, and I can see the metal of the contacts through 1/4 inch gaps. I'm worried that it's going to be impossible to keep dust and dirt out of the innards of this thing.

Total Tokens: 78.51 Donate Tokens | I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I meant is there any way to tighten up the connector? It's come loose from the front plate and I have to remove the up arrow pad in order to connect the cord to the pad...

Total Tokens: 75,066.94 Donate Tokens | Yeah, I'm still trying to get through to them and I'm failing horribly. I'll have to try calling them during business hours tomorrow.
Taping it in place no longer works for me, unfortunately. I also have seen neither hide nor hair of the GQ1000s I ordered, that were suposed to be here by "the second week in November."
Has anyone actually gotten GQ1000s? Has anyone actually had success in getting their customer service to fix the connector problem? Should I just dispute the charge with my credit company ("goods not received as ordered"), ship back the working and non-working pad and order from someone else?

Total Tokens: 1,567.83 Donate Tokens | for those who dont know, the GQ1000 is the new 2007 Pump it up metal pad from mymybox
i dont think anyone here has one of those, you can try going to other piu forums for better luck
if you want a piu metal pad, theres only 2 choices, the GQ1000 or cobalt flux
im not even sure if you can turn a cf into a piu metal pad
my suggestion is to make your own metal pad, its not that hard if you have the money
plus since you built it, if theres something wrong, you should know where to check
