i haven't got the chance to play in an arcade 5th mix, but seeing the chart i say that i'll definitely use both of my feet in dealing with that sick voltage part....

It's really not fun. It's more stupid and awkward. The new steps gave it at least a little more depth. IIRC, you can still play the old steps on Extreme if you hit right-right when the song is selected...I can't remember though...either that or I stored the steps on the machine =P

if they can do that on paranoia eternal, the change-the-stepchart thingy, then maybe they should do that on the other charts that are too lazy (uhm, sunkiss?) or to the charts that didn't give enough justice to the song (bloody tears expert chart)... because seriously it can be better...

The 2nd choice, which was downloading a fanmade chart.

While we're talking about fanmade songs & stepcharts, did the people who won Konami's contests to have their songs be in DDR (like the guy who did Eternus) also do the stepcharts, or did Konami do that themselves?

They didn't. As I recall, Sanxion7 said that he didn't hear or see anything from KONAMI regarding EternuS until the final game was released.
