my reasons:
-sensitive only in the center of the arrow; not on the edges
-no bar
-flat pad (although the arcade mod makes it better)
-even with the arcade mod, they don't feel like the arcade at all
if you have the time and expertise, i'd recommend building your own. when building your own, you can choose everything about it to make it exactly how you want it
if not, buy a blueshark and hope it works the first time D:

In that case, I'm a dancing kitten.
@Kalek:
Well, I'm not going to get that then because i almost despise my pad because the little circle (sensor) is in the middle and it's hard to step on it all the time.

Total Tokens: 16,471.23 Donate Tokens | Okay, sorry for the double post but I want to ressurect for a sec.
I just got my pad and I like it. There's only 2 things I despise about it though.
The first plastic cheap pad kept screwing up and I got a lot of "Boo!"s and now on workout mode I figured I lose 30 more calories on the workout and 10-20 more on each song I do because it actually all goes in now.
There's a problem though, about 1/5 of the time I don't fully get a arrow it says "Almost!" and I'm like....shouldn't it be good? O.o
It keeps saying "Almost!" about 5-7 times every song I do averagely now for some weird reason. Can someone tell me why?
The second problem is that it is suppose to have a non-slip bottom, but I guess either mine's defective or that was false advertisement because it slides almost just as much as the older one. The only thing good is that it isn't a cheap plastic pad so I can kind of "trap" it between different objects in the room so it can stay still. Anyone know why this happens too?

Total Tokens: 16,471.23 Donate Tokens | I'm going to bump this because I am starting to have problems with the pad...and the "Broken Ignition Pad" topic is 2 years old so I'm going to go ahead with this one if it is fine with you?
I've had it for a month and last week it started to really piss me off. Now it is acting like my old plastic pad and starting to "miss-fire" or I will step on something, even with shoes, and it won't pick it up on the sensor. Also, I think my carpet just won't let it stay "non-slip" because it is just as bad as the old pad.
I'm wondering if I can do anything about it without having to cut open the thing because my parents would kill me if they saw that. I don't have any money to get a blue shark or anything else yet so I'm stuck with this one for a LONG while. (prob til. Christmas)
Anyone have an idea how I can fix this because for the first few weeks, I could almost AA/AAA things and now I can barely get a B or an A because of all the "almost!" and "boo!" it is giving me when I know I hit the button because I hit it the same way at the arcade and it goes through there.

It has been about 45 days. Maybe I should try returning it and asking for a replacement, but how much would shipping cost?

That doesn't help your current situation, but it is a data point. The only problem is the issue of the zippers breaking - the pull tabs, or whatever they are called, are cheap and break off easy. I also had a problem where the zipper became unmeshed when I unzipped them and I had to fix it, which I was able to, but I recommend never unzipping them/taking them apart anyway. You should only store them flat and never take them apart and fold them up. Folding a pad up will kill it dead before long.

Any good ways to figure out how to clean it or help the sensors? They also tend to misfire on the bottom arrow for some reason.

It actually lasted me from 5-7's when the MadKatz pad I got with SN back in late 2006 died one day (I Wasn't expecting it to last more than a week actually, but It went from Janurary-Half of Feb 2007)
The gamestop one started screwing up sometime in may of 2007, which is when I decided I needed a new pad anyway. I was lucky annd found the RO Ignition 3.0 at my local GS back in nyc for 50 dollars.
