Default Question on secret stuff: Unlockable songs for DDR 4th mix arcade (Asian Version)

I'm not sure if some of you guys were already playing when 4th Mix came along (started sometime in the year 2000) but I might as well give it a shot.

Anyways, apparently we still saved a 4th Mix machine Asian version which is in English language. Apparently, it's the same as a standard 4th Mix Jap version machine (minus ten songs incl the Korean Music stuff, Get Up Before The Night is over and El Ritmo Tropical)

Pics of it (photos belong to Jops)

With that said, I've just browsed through a Wikipedia article on 4th Mix and while I was reading, I stumbled upon a line which said that 12 songs can be unlocked.

So with that said, I basically have two questions:
1) Does anyone still remember how to unlock those said 12 songs?

and

2) Will this unlock method work on Asian version of 4th Mix?

I'm not too sure whether this will work for the Asian ver., but this is how it works for the JP versions:

Enter the Service Mode and highlight Game Mode. Then, hold down the service button and 1P down arrow simultaneously. While doing so, hit the 1P start button.

The code entry screen will show up. Enter this code: OGLAPLT - JC2LO8I

from what i remember, the unlock code for the asian version of 4th is different than the japanese version

and unfortunately, konami never released that code, so you'll never have unlocks on that machine (unless i'm wrong, of course, and in this case i hope i am haha)

I remember seeing a thread like this a while ago and the Japanese code is different than the Asian one, and Konami never did release one, so I hate to say it, but you're probably out of luck...

If I recall correctly, there are three codes, but only one or two codes worked (to unlock the Beatmania songs). We used the Japanese codes, and they worked fine.

Oh, were you referring to the OGLAPLT - JC2LO8I code?

Hmm........
I guess it doesn't hurt to try then. I'll see if I can get one of the townsfolk there to get them to work it out. It could take a while but since this is an added bonus (which comes at no cost), I can't see why the technicians and management would refuse.

P.S.
It's interesting though.
We never knew about any sort of unlock codes till around Max2 came out (that was around three-four years after 4th Mix was revealed).

It's probably because before Max2, you had to pay for unlock codes, so they weren't freely available.

Well in any case, I'm still waiting for a response from Ho-man over at DDRFREAK (since he was the one who wrote the FAQs as well as the one who has *I think* the most knowledge in terms of arcade hardware systems especially those involving BEMANI games). Atm, there is still no response or word from him.

So yeah, until then, I guess it's either we have to try using the Jap. version unlock code (and pray that it works) or we try some other method if there is any or worse, do trial and error by testing all combinations (involving 14 alphanumeric characters). Indeed, a major pain-in-the-ass.

Sigh

do you honestly think you're going to be able to try over 9000000000000000000000 unlock code combinations?

not in this lifetime. brute forcing is NOT the way to go in this case, unless you want to spend the rest of your life trying to find the code (and likely die before finding it).
