I usually pick skate shoes (Vans, DC, K2, etc.) because I love playing flat foot all the time. I just avoid leather shoes because they are TOO slippery especially in songs with crossovers like Break Down, No. 13 and Exotic Ethnic.

Converse High-tops.

after some wearing into them, theyve served me the best that any pair has ever.

ive pulled off (in ITG) tons of *s, a few **, great FA, and passed almost all 11s/12s (the ones im missing im just too lazy ot play)

and for DDR ive been able to pass PSMO as a warmup, and i picked up doubles and was able to beat PSMO Doubles within about 2 months of playing.

I can't STAND playing in new shoes at all. Even if the pair I'm wearing feels comfortable when walking. They always end up hurting my feet before they break in.

Also, this may be embarassing but does anyone else always do a few quick taps and crossovers at the store when trying on new shoes? Hahaha

Shoes? At home, when we use the Dance Pad, we don't wear any shoes, unless we use the shiny one, and we'd wear socks. In arcades, though, where people have stepped on the metal dance pads, I prefer wearing Converse shoes because they don't really bother me at all, except if the shoelaces hate me and go loose. I like the shoelace-less Nike Shoes (I forgot the kind, sorry!) that really bend wonderfully without breaking the shoe. It really depends on your foot.

I usually wear anything that's comfortable. Anything except dress shoes and sandals. I have a pretty good pair of Nike running shoes that I use currently.

Don't worry you're not alone. I'll admit I do that sometimes too.

I wear any type of skateboard shoes, they are big, and heavy I know, but they work really well, and can take quite a beating.

I have a pair of addidas skating style shoes for DDR. At first, I thought... "Hey, wider and larger is better" but then I realized its all about pressure in the right places. But, they still work great for me. Easy to move in, and comfortable. I think comfort is the stat to shoot for.

Do not try to DDR in combat boots.
I tried when I was still in the army and it was the most awkward thing I had ever ever done.

You should just guess what I use. Nope I don't use shoes, but I use sandles or maybe nothing at all on my feet.

Nike Air Shoxx are the classic. The ones with the huge tubes thingys at the end...

I accidently wore some Timberland boots once while my friends were playing DDR. It was really, really, really hard......T-T

Nike Impax Dime for the moment, not sure if they offer any support.......

Shoes? I am most comfortable using semi heavy duty leather shoes... That's the best way I can explain them...

I'm also used to wearing sandals with socks while playing DDR... Yeah, lame sense of style, I know...

But I guess rubber shoes would be best, since they were designed for "Exercise".
