Marketplace Rating: 0 | Should DDR have ratings above 10? With FELM Oni and Bag being rated the same, I think it's time for more ratings to be added to DDR's scale. Supernova 2's difficult 9's like Paranoia Hades on heavy should be moved up to 10, and the harder 10's should be moved up to 11 or 12.
Do you think DDR should have ratings above 10?

Marketplace Rating: 0 | It's up to Konami to do that, but if ratings should be up to 10, Konami needs some massive re-rating.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I think 10ft should be the highest rating, however, I think they should expand the rating scale.
Example: Irrestiblement could be rated a 9.0 while Cartoon Heroes could be rated a 9.6 and Unreal a 9.8 or something like that.

Sure it might be a lot more work for Konami, but it's better than going ITG rating and whatnot. 10 is okay, it's the strange ratings DDR has been giving that makes the rating system strange.

Marketplace Rating: 8 | i see no reason why they shouldn't. they've already added ratings twice; adding 9/catastrophic in 2nd (or maybe it was 3rd?) mix, and adding 10 in Max2.
also they've changed the rating scale in IIDX like 40 million times so it's not like they don't have precedent

The ratings are supposed to be an easy indicator of song difficulty to even the most casual of players, and all decimals would do is cause needless confusion. For example, imagine trying to explain to someone that a difficulty difference of .5 on a 1-to-10 scale is pretty big.
Instead, all song rating should be assigned a number between 1 and 100. Under this scale, 1-foot songs would be rated 10, 3-foot songs rated 30, and so on. That will make it easier for anyone to compare song ratings.
So following your example, Neon Kel, Irrestiblement gets a 90, Cartoon Heroes a 96, and Unreal a 98. The way I see it, the difference between 90 and a 96 is more noticeable than between 9.0 and 9.6.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I do think higher ratings should be added. But I don't think current charts should be moved up in difficulty, because if Hades or Relinquish Oni automatically moves up to a 12, everyone's gonna want higher ratings again and nothing will come out of it. There should be charts genuinely harder than Hades/Felm Oni that are rated 11s and 12s in the future.
I agree with Neon Kel on the decimal thing. On the Select Music screen, it would just have the normal scale, but then you go into "Expanded Stats" or something and the true rating is there. Say Paranoia Hades Oni. On the Select Music screen, it would be a 10. But go into Expanded Stats and it will say "10.6" or something.

the point of re-rating songs would be to fix the current inadequacies. Having PRO, FELMO, and FAXXO rated the same as bag, PS, and Uranus Oni is retarded.
Also if PRO would be a 10 and there would be something HARDER that, in comparison, would be rated a 12, I will fucking quit DDR

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Why not just leave it as is, and for those songs that actually break past 10, actually make it say a number, not just flash. Hell, a flashing 10 can mean 11 or 12, or maybe 13.
Okay, DDR has no 13's; but the point is the same.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | So basically it's DM&GF rating system. It still wouldn't really work. Everythings thats a 10 will still be an 100, hence the original problem still lies.
I still think an IIDX 1-12 rating would work best. Only thing that would be needing to change are the super-hard songs. Flashing 10's on Extreme would be an 11, the super hard SN/SN2 boss songs (FELMO, PRO) would be a 12.
Besides, most people refer it to a song have a 'X footer' and 9.8 or 98 foot sounds silly.

And bag is not a fucking 10.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | konami makes 1-10 ratings
ITG appears with 1-13 ratings
konami kills ITG
konami has ratings higher than 10
a good idea in theory, but I don't know if konami would be willing to do that, considering the possible response from the DDR community, and especially the DDR/ITG community.
As far as the rating system goes, it works very well. Anyone who can play 10s, understands the difference between easy 10s and hard 10s, and all that number signifiyes is the highest tier of songs, not specific difficulty. and since SN2 already has songs like pluto relinquish that are 10 on difficult, 10 on expert, and 10 on challenge, it doesn't look like konami will change any time soon. or at all. Especially considering they added 10 footers when they brought ion the first hard song (Max 300) the time for konami to do the same thing with 11s and 12s has already come and gone.
I suppose maybe I didn't answer the question correctly. Yes yes, maybe DDR should have ratings higher than 10, but the day they actually do is the day hell freezes over.
