am-net says that a private showing of DDR:X is being held for vendors July 10th and 11th JST....Which is basically today and tomorrow.

Also, the release date will be Late 2008/Early 2009 according to the distributor for EU.

Look hard and you can see the 1p/2p side buttons. You know, the yellow arrow buttons and the green button that'd be in the middle.

Look closer and there's a circular arrangement inbetween the 1p/2p buttons directly under the middle of where the display would be.

Look even harder and you'll see the 1p/2p buttons have button BELOW where the green button would be. It's more apparent on the left side than the right.

Yes, I did say it was a silhouette but they don't always have minute details like these.

Although I'd be happy if they put Sense 2007 (uncut) in this new version. Apparently looking for some new songs to do freestyle/choreography with.......and with the (possible) announcement regarding the return of step edits, this would be great for we can have something ala PIU which is freestyle/choreo-friendly........as only a few stock/default charts are (save for Bad Routine)

That's the very reason why I'd much rather have AC IIDX primaries as guest artists in AC DDR, instead of seeing your beloved IIDX Originals butchered in DDR. In addition, that way, the IIDX community would stop bitching, whining, moaning, and groaning, "OMG! DDR BUTCHERED (insert AC IIDX Original here)!"

Konami, please remember this: since the early days of Bemani, you have concentrated most of the Bemani artist roster to beatmania/IIDX/III/pop'n, to the point Naoki Maeda got the distinction as the "Heart and Soul of DDR." In addition, DDR got the Bemani-wide distinction of starting with ONLY ONE in-house Bemani artist.

I don't know if I already mentioned this, but since at least smile.dk/X-TREME/Bus Stop/E-Rotic, and Captain Jack have more songs featured in DDR than any given AC IIDX/pop'n primary that as an AC DDR Original, they deserve their respective courses, as a sign of respect and gratitude. Bemani-wide, these artists have been more associated with the history of DDR than any other Bemani artist that started his/her career somewhere else.

As long as they won't get butched, I'm perfectly fine with it. Just look at Mahou no Tobira as an example. So far, this is currently the ONLY pop'n Original that I know of that has its original pop'n length unscathed.

Ok guys, brace yourself...am-net just updated the DDR:X page with features.

Cabinet will feature:
Widescreen monitor
Satellite Unit Ultra-Luxury Lights
Updated Speaker System

The PS2 version will be released this winter, and players can make edits and play them at the arcade.

A new gimmick, entitled "Shock Arrow" will be introduced. This arrow should not be stepped on. It is unknown at this time whether this will be a regular feature, or whether it will be in an optional mode or modifer.

It mentions that the step variations will increase.

Beginner mode will now be called starter mode

Looks like the courses will be in "Course Mode" and a new "Dance Drill Course" will be used as well.

e-amusement will once again be used.

Lastly, the song count is going to be "More than 60 new songs"
