I thought the background image was also removed for the BG videos on SuperNova as well. The song always starts out with a black screen..at least that's what I've noticed...then again..I always turn BG videos off.

I also hate the no BG's thing. Somehow they should integrate it into an SN stage.

Anyway, I love the characters. I see why people hate them, and I think they should be fixed so charaphobes will just be gone. I like the way EX2 and SN had them. EX2 pretty much had the best BGAs ever, and it had decent-looking 3D characters to go with it. SN introduced actual stages, and I like them all. The dancers looked great, but their dancing was far from perfect. Randomly stopping, going to the BPM of songs with extreme speeds or lack of speed....

I hated the UM characters for dancing to an apparently random BPM that was unrelated to the song's. The BPM they dance to should be related easily to the BPM of the song. I liked UM4 characters, though. They were close enough to the BPM or an integer of it to make me like them. Also, they could do more specific moves for certain songs. Slow dance for slow songs, headbanging/playing air instruments to rock, hip-hop dancing to r&b or hip hop.... They could do a lot with them. I actually don't like my rock idea that much, though.

Some of the stages look cool, but you should be able to choose whether you want BG videos or stages.

I love the dancers; especially Emi on SN and Alice (my love ) on EXtreme 2.

I think dancers are the best in the Extreme series since they helped figure out the speed of the BPM without just looking at the flashing arrows' lights.

Also that last statement doesn't make since, the dancers have always moved to the speed of the BPM (Except in the Ultramix/Universe games).

Realistic environments and the option to turn characters on or off so people can view a BG video instead.

At least it's nice to see that a much larger percentage of new songs in SN2 had bg videos compared to SN1.

Oh I know, lol ;P About a third of the appeal from bemani to me is the videos and lights and it just comes together forming such a trippy experience when you think about it
