From what I can tell any stage can be accessed for Extra Stage as long as it is heavy or challenge difficulty. I can confirm this as I have gotten ES with Under the Sky, and many people play Golden Sky in order to get ES at my arcade.

This is noted by the fact that you can get HDV on Medium or Easy music selection plus the fact people have gotten the ES by playing Golden Sky.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Is the patch going to be released for Dancing Stage SuperNOVA as well as DDR SuperNOVA? The first post didn't specify anything so I assume it is for both?
One thing I've noticed though is that no one seems to be recording themselves playing a song on Basic or Difficult. Certainly a lot of experienced people now do play on Expert as standard but there are still people, like me for example, who prefer to play Difficult and possibly even Basic just because its easier and can be more fun. Will anyone who has the ability to record themselves on the machine get around to the lower difficulties?
Simulation wise, I can cope with things like A Love Like This and Golden Sky on Expert but other great songs like AA and Xepher I simply cannot do on Expert with my current ability.
I hope people don't think I'm complaining though. I'm glad something is being done to capture the steps but I do hope someone can get the lower difficulties some time soon so that they can be stepped as well. I'd even be happy to have a go at stepping them if someone can record the Basic and Difficult charts.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Ok guys, I may have a new issue. I just discovered this while going over one of my photos. Take a look at this one.
I got an A on this, but from calculating the DP, assuming it is still the same as DDR Extreme, I got 95.56%. That meant I should have got an AA, but for some reason, I didn't. (And before you ask, no this photo is not altered except for the fact it was resized before it was uploaded. And yes, I swear I did not miss any freezes.)
What is this all about?
Edit: HUGE DISCOVERY! Look at this photo!
Look at the left side. If you calculate the DP, it turns out to be 94.07%!!!! Which is less than 95% required to get an AA!
So I conclude, that DP is not FACTORED AT ALL when figuring out your grade! It seems to be the score at the bottom that deals with it.

I thought that would've been the first thing most people figured out after not AAing songs so easily.

Konami of Japan released their SN's with the patch already installed (damn Japanese).

Marketplace Rating: 3 | OKAY GUYS, SCORING ALGORITHM BELOW. (backsolved from screenshots, you can verify)
Max Score = 10000000
Score per DP = 5000000 / (Steps + Freezes)
Max DP = 2 * (Steps + Freezes)
Perfect = 2 DP
Great = 1 DP
O.K. = 2 DP
Other = 0 DP
95% max DP gets you an AA, as we all knew.
