Plans were in the works back when the game was in development, but due to factors not explained to me, it never materialized.
I can tell you from my knowledge of Konami that the home version states a linking feature because the CS department of Konami is somewhat independant of the arcade division, meaning they basically don't work with each other. Therefore I assume in communications with the arcade division the discussion of linking features came up, however over time they never materialized and the CS department had really no easy way of knowing this would not happen.

I hope Konami support is right since they usually read from whatever is fed to them, and I as much as I trust sfetaz in giving us NYC players accurate info, I'll call rumor on this one until I hear it straight from Konami.
EDIT: K0LD, exactly when did you call them, and also keep in mind that the arcade division and the CS one are two seperate entities that apparently do not communicate with each other, thus they might be feeding you cookie cutter info that might not be accurate at all.

If so, I wonder what would happen if someone sticks a card w/ Edit Library data in there... O_o

edit: I'm actually not supprised that there IS a way to get to it; it's printed in the instruction manual for a reason, I guess.
edit2: @daggett: yes, they still do. It's a fat (old model) ps2 with the hard drive and hardware boards attached to it. So far as I know, that's the only difference between it and a normal PS2.

They better get the info out soon.

The case the PS2 in is accessible by a sliding door that gives you access to the DVD drive. It makes it easy for you to stick a memcard in, but you'd have to unscrew the damn thing to get into anything else. The difference between their PS2 and a regular PS2 is the firmware; the boot file on the install disk is Kxxx_xxx.xx instead of the usual SLUS, SLES, or whatever you see on regular PS2 games. I haven't gotten a chance to test a HDD, but I know the disk does NOT work in a regular or modded PS2.

[I've seen it happen ] | That's news to me. I what we were gonna do probably wouldn't have affected it; good to know tho. Probably Saturday I'll have a result for plugging edit data into the PS2.
