I tried weights before, and they really don't work that well, especially if you accidentally hit them while playing. | |

You know, the stuff you stick in RVs to keep anything from flying around while you drive. Check your local Target: a good-sized roll (as in, enough that you can comfortably replace the pad monthly and still have about a year's worth) is $10 or so.
You'll still have a little slippage on harder tracks (hello Boss Rush), but in 99% of the play sessions most people have, it'll keep movement below any discernable level in a song. | |
