Total Tokens: 1,648.14 Donate Tokens | For those of you who own a machine, is it worth it? alrighty. I have always been wanting a machine since I was kid, however obviously the machines are very expensive, and sometimes high maintenance. I have plans on opening an arcade in the future with all the Bemani games, but thats in the future, so right now I was thinking about saving up for a DDR machine.
However I am afraid that once I do save up all the money and play it, I will just get bored of it. Not to mention new upgrades are expensive, there is no way to save data (e-amuse where are you?), and all the extra costs for maintaining the dance pad's sensors, and other parts.
I just wanted to know if it all worth it blowing all that money? I mean I do want a machine, but I am afraid I will just grow out of it, and ignore it like I do with most of the older DDR games.
You could call this a pointless topic, however i was thinking I would save up for a machine after Christmas, and get one next year. I also dont know if there is anyone that owns a 2P machine on here that can even answer this question.
Thanks. | |

If you can find a way to make money off of it though by placing it at a Bowling Alley or something, then do that.

Total Tokens: 159.94 Donate Tokens | I think it was worth it, and I don't regret it, but I bought an ITG2 machine instead of DDR so that's a little different. However, I don't have any decent machines of any kind nearby; if I did, buying one of my own would not only be unnecessary but would be to some degree a waste. I think I might get bored of just a DDR machine.
They're not high maintenance as long as you make sure you obtain one that's initially in good condition, and then treat the machine with a decent amount of care. I haven't even had to clean the pads out yet.

I still am planning on opening a arcade, and for business management this year I had over 30 pages worth of planning, and got an A on my project. But that is still far down the road. So until then I wait for a DDR machine...
We can still discuss, however I am pretty sure I will keep getting the same answers now.

But if you want to not get bored of a machine, HOOK IT UP TO STEPMANIA. You can get almost any official theme you would want (or fanmade themes, whatever floats your boat) and you can get new simfiles for each mix without paying for an upgrade. SuperNOVA2 sims are already complete over at Zenius-I-Vanisher, so these packs get done relatively fast.

It cost $1,500 and $500 to ship to me as well. So it wasn't a bad price though.
