There are so many good IIDX songs that should be on DDR: Abyss THR, Ageha (in fact, anything by Ryu other than the Jaeger remix), Everyday Lovelyday LED Style, wish (eurobeat mix), Debbty Daddy, Let the Snow Paint Me Y&Co, fun, Bad Boy Bass, Linus, Sense 2007, etc.

Speaking of that song, why does Konami cut down the time for DDR edits on some songs like Across the Nightmare and Blind Justice, but don't in others like "Love is Dreaminess" (IIDX, Ultramix 2, SuperNOVA U.S. CS)? It kinda ruins the whole song if you've played IIDX and GF/DM and then try it on DDR.

Back to more subjects and an update, why does Konami only use about 1 or 2 gigs in a DVD for DDR games resulting in only 70-80 songs? Why can't they provide over 200 songs in the DVD? Since I think the Extreme AC is still inferior to the DVD when it came to disc spaces.

Across the Nightmare is not edited for time. It's intact from GF/DM. Now, if you're referring to the undanceable 6-minute full version, now we have a problem.

EXTREME AC was on a CD. They compressed all those songs onto 650MB.

Two reasons why there isn't a 75+ song game:

-Bad business idea to milk out money from your consumers
-I HEAR THERE'S THIS THING CALLED DDR ULTRAMIX/UNIVERSE.

...course, Universe is severely lacking in the DLC but not Ultramix 1-4.

The Japanese players should be envying us for having our own superior console version with a swath of songs they'll never see on a console, only through emulation.

Heh. Reenee beat me to it.

But it's really the same reason why pop'n doesn't: because putting 200 songs in a game would drive away people from purchasing the other games in the series.

The first is inexcusable since other games had a higher songlist. Off-topic, look at Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Project Gotham Racing series (except the first) quanity of the songs! I don't know how many tunes GTA4 had. At least compress the wav file inside or something, Konami, or use other methods of compression like vorbis!

What puzzles me is how they choose which songs to edit. What, DoLL & Love is Dreaminess is alright, but Murmur Twins & Dragon Blade (seriously, I was alright w/ the beginning being cut, but not the ending) isn't?

& yeah, Across The Nightmare didn't need to be editted nor was it. It was only about 1:20 on GF/DM.

I'd also like to see some UM/UNI & their downloadable songs again. Seriously, I want my Infinite, Get It All, Battle Breaks, Nemesis, .59 (Remix), starmine, Disabled The Flaw, O Jiya, Brilliant R.E.D (or its DistorteD remix, Deep Roar), Guidecca, & Music To Your Head.

& I want Jenny Rom to be on PS2 US.

The main reason why Konami doesn't put more than 150 songs on the disc is because they would rather have you pay for two seperate games that feature 75 songs.

Plus to keep it around $40 & so they can keep making games. We probably wouldn't have EX2 (or a good one) if Konami had all those songs on EX.

Definitely off-topic, since nobody buys GTA4 for the songs and then refuses to buy GTA:SA because they share a song or something. That comparison isn't even remotely valid.

And now I have to break down and buy DistorteD again now, because I never heard/played Deep Roar. Damn you for telling me this.

Brilliant R.E.D. is one of my favorite Bemani songs of all time.

Deep Roar (listen to it here) is basically Brilliant R.E.D w/ Japanese vocals by Junko Hirata w/ some dude saying some stuff. I perfer it over Brilliant R.E.D. & is one of my fav. songs on DD.

Again, Konami should have a survey on what songs/crossovers we'd like to see. It's obvious they choose the most popular Bemani songs at the time to crossover (Xepher, murmur twins, Dragon Blade, etc.), but still, it'd be nice if they'd let us choose at least SOME of them.

Konami needs to work on the game mechanics first before messing with a songlist.

I think Konami should focus on putting more original songs on DDR. I mean, I love bemani songs and all, but should 70%+ of a game's new-to-DDR songlist be made up of bemani songs (Extreme and SN...)?

I think SN2 did it right with crossovers. They picked good crossovers and kept them to a minimum. Here's hoping X has lots of new Konami Originals.

P.S. Whee! Just checked the Konami website for fun...

DDR X AC and JP CS announced!

DanceDanceRevolution X

DanceDanceRevolution X -PS2-

For those wondering what it says on the AC page, using my rather subpar Japanese skills, I translated it as "Don't miss the time of revolution!" Don't quote me on it though.
