This gude is designed to get you online with your games as quickly as humanly possible. Ill start with Extreme 2 because most Xbox Live Users have an idea of what they're doing and have played on Xbox Live prior to DDR Ultramix/2.
Lets start with What youre going to need.
1. Broadband Internet Connection.
DDR Extreme 2 is a high bandwith game only, you will need a Broadband connection
2. a unmodded PS2 enabled with a network adapter
If you have a slimline PS2 (pstwo) you can skip the step of installing one, you already have one! Look on the back of your pstwo for the ethernet port, and plug the cable in there. We will talk about network setup later.
IF you do NOT have a slimline PS2, youll need one of these:

Installation of one of them is really easy, Take it, remove the expantion bay cover on the back of your ps2, take your network adapter, snap it into place and secure the 2 screws. You are ready with that.
3. A copy of DDR Extreme 2 (duh)
4. A Network adapter Setup disc (If you dont have one of these, borrow one)
5. A 8meg Memory card for your ps2 (you probably have one of these)
6. Dualshock controller (Last time I checked you need one for the network setup)
7. Ethernet cord to plug your playstation into your cable, dsl, satellite modem, or router. (NOT INCLUDED IN BOX. You will need a "straight through" cable)
8. A router if you are planning on sharing your connection with your PC and not having to disconnect wires.
Ok.

2. Setup The Network adapter.
This is where it gets complicated.
Plug your memory card that you are going to store your Extreme 2 system file on into slot 1 on your PS2.
Plug a dualshock controller into the player 1 port on the Playstation 2 (**IMPORTANT)
Place the network Setup Disc into the drive of the playstation 2.
Turn the ps2 on.
Substep: If you got a sheet of paper with your internet connection that had your:
Ip Address
Subnet Mask
Default Gateway
DNS Servers
Logon Name
Logon Password
on it, youll need that at this point. go get it. If you forget, call your local Internet provider.
If you didnt get a sheet like that, you probably use DHCP and got off easy.
If you use a router, ignore that step (untested)
You will see a menu after some stupid movie.

If you chose Username/password, Enter your username and password with the funky thing, then choose continue.
If you chose advanced setup, and you need manual IP, enter them in the menus. Ditto for manual DNS.
After all that crap is done, your system will ask you to test Settings. Test your settings, Your PS2 will DNAS authenticate with Sony.
choose continue if that worked.
