Question TX-6000 metal pad problem?

Hello!

First off, sorry if this is in the wrong thread, I've never really posted in the forums, I'm of a lurker.

This has been bothering me for a few weeks now, and I think this would be the best place to get answers from. I have a TX-6000 metal DDR pad and its worked amazingly for the first few months Ive had it since May this year. But recently, the pad has just... stopped responding. I was thinking it had something to do with the cord that connects it to the PS2, but the start and select buttons on the control box still work. So either its a problem in the connecting bits of the cord, or the wiring in the actual pad? I'm not too sure, as its still my first Metal pad so Im pretty clueless in this whole area.

Has this ever happened to anyone else before, or who could help me figure out how to fix the pad?

you may have to open the pad and see if the wires got broken apart or ripped apart. If thats the case its a pretty easy solder job. Thats the re-occurring problem I get with my TX-2000.

I've unscrewed the top arrows and panels before, but I can't reach any wiring through there, so am I going to have to rip the bottom fabric-type material off the bottom to get to them? I'm completely clueless as to how to take apart these things, so if there are any resources or advice out there that may help I would be forever grateful

well On mine, you just take off the panel, and there should be a censor there, however that does not always mean the wire is cut right there, it may be down a little, which (If I remember correctly) you can still move the censor, but off course be careful that you dont disconnect the wiring. Also just try to re-solder the wire where they should be, and that sometimes fixes it.
