Default Ultramix 2's B4U - Did I almost have a seizure?

Sorry if a similar topic has been created before.

I recently decided to randomly break out DDR Ultramix 2 to play a few songs. Though I've had the game for awhile, I never got around to playing B4U on Ultramix 2 due to how much I overplayed the song on other various releases. I decided to finally give it a go. Everything was going great until it got to the part of the song just before the "B-B-B-B-4-U". My sight just went blank for about one second which caused me to stumble off the pad while holding my head that was throbbing with pain. I remember the background video flashing many different colors before this happened, I can normally watch the video, characters, and arrows at the same time during gameplay.

I've been a gamer almost all my life and a DDR player for close to 8 years. I never had anything like this happen prior to the incident. I'm terrified to even put Ultramix 2 back into my xbox. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem with this?

Yes, B4U has flashing colors, I think BLUEREDBLUEREDBLUERED that makes my eyes water, and sometimes causes them to move uncontrollably.

The Insaner remix in UM4 also has this.

And they cannot be turned off. Take extreme caution. Try lowering the brightness too.

I'm affected a bit too. It makes my eyes hurt a bit but I try to focus on the arrows as much as I can.

Stay away from songs like those and turn off BG animations, and if you are tired and what not, use extreme caution

There are NOT that many songs that flash the colors so rapidly like that. Those are about the only two I can think of, really.

Just imagine FAXX with a huge flicker of colours throughout all of the song...if B4U can cause seizures, then FAXX will kill!

I hate those backgrounds when it does that! e_e

Thank god that in UM4 and in Universe, You can fine-tune the backgrounds to your liking. Insaner (LED's Punishment Mix) hurt my eyes.

Haha yes, UM2 is a seizure machine. I definitely noticed the flashing bgs on B4U, but nothing's happened to me. Yet.
Insaner Remix on UM4 hasn't caused me any problems whatsoever, but I'm not sure if I've already turned down the settings on that one.
Either way, you'll be fine as long as you turn down the brightness.

Thank you all for your supportive answers. To prevent anything like this again, it's best that I turn off or tune down background videos from now on. Unfortunatly I can't do this in the arcade unless I only play songs that use stages in SuperNova.

I think I seriously almost cried or something after Insaner. Or I didn't feel good. Or maybe it just made my eyes really tired, but either way it wasn't pleasant.

Ya know, this is the exact reason why I love SUpernova and its character stages, there very little flashing or colour changeing means I can conentrate on the arrows, so I get alot better scores then the irregularly scrolling background and changing backgrounds of extreme.

Another song, STARMINE is lethel also, The arrows actually have less colour then the backgrounds.

Keeping a mellow background is essential, another reaso why, keep the background characters is essential as they distract from the real background.

Uh, in all honesty, very few bg movies have distracted me.

I have noticed the bg videos on the PS2 and ARC versions are less of an eye sore. I wonder why anyone would think of placing rapidly flashing colors into the videos especially of the Blue-Red-Blue-Red scheme. Is it really necessary? How are the creators unaffected? I personally believe some flashing color schemes should not be allowed in video games but that's just my opinion.
