So I've been playing universe 1 and 2 a lot downstairs on my old tube tv with my cobalt flux and custom box. No problems, works perfect AAing songs, controller too. I just got universe 3, different story. It's like the timing is random. I tried tweaking it in the options both ways and that didn't help, controller or pad.
The game is almost unplayable for me which is a shame because the songs grew on me so much and I'd like to buy the DLC, but what's the point if I can't even play.
Does anyone have any suggestions? What's the timing set on for those of you playing on tube tvs?

Just be acquainted or expose yourself to the timing that UNI 3 has. I tried it too and had a hard time to AA or AAA some musics. Maybe UNI 3 has lags in it depending on the TV set you have.
What bullshit seriously. Maybe I'd like to play the game the way it's supposed to be. I shouldn't have to turn off the video to play properly. Why can't Konami just make a consistant DDR like IIDX has been?

The XBox DDR devs have proven themselves incapable of making a functional DDR engine since 2003. Framerate, seizure-tastic backgrounds, laughable triplet approximations (they somewhat fixed this). I'm just worried the same team is doing the new PS3 and XBox360 DDR; if so, sigh, what a waste.
I have never got nearly sick playing a video game, until I played Universe 2 and 3. After a few songs I have to walk away. Plus they are extremely distracting. Just turn them off, you will be doing yourself a favor. It probably wont improve your timing, but I did not find a lag issue with DDR Universe 3. I AAA a song on my first try in the game.

What kind of TV?

I'm guessing that you need to disable abxy in your controller options. That serves the same function as dance mode in the ps2 versions. For some reason the default is on. Turn it off and you'll see it works like it should.
