Weirdest things that have messed up your sets

The first incident was an isolated event. It's the only time that it happened to that particular machine (to my knowledge), and it happened as soon as lightning hit, so maybe the power flickering just caused the machine to read the disc badly for a moment.

I wouldn't doubt that the CD and/or the drive was bad in the second instance, though. That specific machine was notorious for glitching out on quite a few songs, as well as having numerous graphical errors all over the rest of the game.

I was playing in a DDR tournament about 3 years ago, and when I was going against my opponent playing Cartoon Heroes, a mentally challenged kid walked to my side of the machine and kept on waving at me and say hi. I just kept on saying hi to him and
tried to concentrate on the hard parts of the song.

Luckily, his mother got him out of the way during the chorus and I somehow ended up winning the match .

I didn't win the tournament though

New Roc City in New Rochelle, NY: February '06:

I accidentally picked the easiest difficulty in SuperNova and played a song or two until I could pick familiar songs. I picked PARANOiA and played. This group of kids came and watched. This fat bitch jumped up on the pad next to me and jumped around, somehow managing to shake the gamepad to the point where I couldn't stand. I yelled, "hey get of! I can't play with you shaking the pads" Ignored. I continue yelling to no avail. Fuck my combo, I shifted over, and give a swift kick in the ribs. They actually believed I was falling over and were like "Woah calm down! Watch where you're goin'" That pissed me off. "NO! You DON'T FUCK CK with a DDR PLAYER LIKE THAT! YOU DON'T! I'm trying to play, stop screwing me out of my money!" I fail, they keep yelling, a simple "FUCK YOU!" from me, and I walked off.



(January '08) I was playing at the movie theatre in the Irvine center (mall?) in California once while visiting. After a few hours of playing some kid jumps on the gamepad next to me prepared to jump like a dipshit. Without losing my combo, I say "I wouldn't do that if I were you, the last kid who did that really regretted it." Distracting, but not enough to screw me over. You shoulda seen the kid run.

Like a few hours ago. I was queuing for DDR SN2 and I'm sure that the even the little girl saw I inserted 2 credits. So it's my game in Doubles, then the girl comes up to me and says that she swiped a credit too. Obviously a f*cking lie, but she's younger and a girl! I mean seriously, isn't chivalry passe already? But I'm nice so...
She bitches and moans and acts like she needs to be in some retarded hugbox for brats. I pick my song, select modifiers, and explain everything in two bursts of breath. She insists on "asking for it" and blocks my way. Either that, or she is not wary of the fundamentals of Double play. I re-explain, and yet she doesn't budge, making me lose my combo. I ended up with a B, and was starting to get annoyed, so I gave her a credit to just SHUT THE PEEP PEEP! UP!

Didn't REALLY mess up my set, but I won't forget that. Because I NEVAR FORGET.
