I never looked at the songlist for MaxJP until yesterday, and realized how great it was. Nearly all the best licenced songs are on it, both "true..." songs... I guess I'm easy to please, but any mix with My Sweet Darlin', Telephone Operator, and other fun licences are good for me.
Only weakness is that there aren't many KO's...

IIRC, aside from the two "preview" songs the songlist is the same as the arcade.
Certainly the closest to a from-arcade-port than any other DDR mix.  Aside, maybe, from 3rd Mix, but others are better versed in that than I. | |

Still my favorite CS to date, best licenses in any DDR ever, and is probably my overall favorite mix, too bad I've never been able to play on a Max machine  | |

Max cs is good but i think max2 cs is way better, containing all the special challenge remixes plus 3 cs exclusive challenge only songs (look to the sky trance mix, kind lady interlude and do it right some remix) as well awesome licenses such as Trance de Janeiro and Maximum Overdrive as well as great revivals like Dynamite Rave and Dead End and also containing Kakumei (best song ever) | |

MAX is gd but you can play thru the whole list in less than an hour, but i agree its well gd with melissa's FANTASY and so deep, does anyone else think that the PA window is tighter too compared with the later mixes? particularly max2 and extreme.

It really doesn't feel that tight to me, I can consistently pull off high AAs in the mix just like most of the other PS2 mixes. | |

I second that motion. I never play Max JP without picking Ghosts first and So Deep a few times after I warm-up.

I don't know, I personally have to go with Bye Bye Baby Balloon as my favorite licensed song from MAX JP CS. Granted, it's really hard to pick a favorite when there are so many awesome licenses to choose from on that game (and what few KO's there are are absolutely fantastic.)
