What defines a gimmick anyways? I agree the groove radar specials take gimmick status, same with DDR Oni, but just because a song has a recurring theme in its step chart, does that make it a gimmick? I always considered gimmick as something that's put into a chart "just because we can".
I suppose you're thinking more of distinguished charts. Frozen Ray is distinguished because of its spins, HVAM for it's end run (and the fact all charts start with Up+Right jump and end with Right, Right, hehe), DXY for it's mid-stream jumps, A for it's slow start and speedy end, etc. This would fit more with that Ska Ska A Go Go is distinguished for its ending. It's not a gimmick because the end fits the song and it's not there just because they wanted a place to put a long 16th run. | |
