Marketplace Rating: 1 | What Things In DDR Have You Misunderstood? Well, the title means that was there anything at all in DDR that you thought was crap or perfect and it turns out to be the opposite?
I have a few:
Love <3 Shine: Almost went hay-wire over it but it turned out to be not as good as I thought.
Supernova 2(US Home console): I thought it was kind of crappy when I first bought it the day it came out, but after 6 months when my friend finally returned it I felt like a retard because I became to love Arrabbiata, bag (can't believe it was on there), A thing Called LOVE, Konoko no Nanatsu no Oiwani, DanDanDo, Flowers (Hana Ranman), and a few others.
Supernova (US Home console): I also took Love <3 Shine for granted and now I love to play CHAOS, HDV, and MAX300. (just to get a B or die half-way through) I also loveothers like Matsuri Japan, AA(didn't know it was on there), and a few others like Xepher.
Extreme 2(US Home console): I liked it but became bored of it so I traded it in to get Supernova 2 and like tossed it out of my life which was a big mistake. Now that I got it back I play Sakura, Miracle Moon, PARANOiA, Paranoia Max 290 and 270, and Daikenkai.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I used to think Captain Jack sucked (I was so n00b back then) but now I don't.
Back when I first started playing, I used to think The legend of MAX was blazing fast...333...now look at Fascination, MAX. (period), and Pluto Relinquish.

Yeah, I learned that the hard way too with Healing-D-Vision's featured spammed air combos.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | the songs dive, tears, insertion, etc. I neglected to play them until just this last week, and I've had stepmania for at least 3 or so months (along with the ddr mixes),.
and how do you pronounce "naoki" (I say it as na-o-ki), but maybe tytigeriku is right.

Marketplace Rating: 2 | I never understood why moving the song wheel was done with the left and right arrows. I played the same song like 10 times until I figures out I move with the side arrows, not up and down.
I never understood why there was x8.0 option. I have never used it, and I never have seen anyone else use it.
I never got why the time modifiers skipped the number 4, it just goes x3.0 to x5.0
I never understood why the title has dance repeated. I am pretty sure Dance Revolution would suffice.

...yeah, I totally did the same thing, but only 4 times in a row. The guy behind me finally gave up trying not to laugh. I kept making the difficulty harder, and was actually passing it. That's what freaked the guy out.

Anyway, now that everyone's used to saying DDR, saying DR would just sound weird. DR Max, DR SuperNOVA.
Back on topic : One of my friend was too afraid to play any of the boss songs because he thought that they all have a bpm of 0-999
