Total Tokens: 145.32 Donate Tokens | In what ways are Japanese versions of DDR different than US versions? I'm not sure if this has been answered yet (I am sorry if it has) but I was looking through JPN and US versions of DDR and the cases for the games look like they have a lot more anime in the JPN versions.
For example, DDR X- JPN:http://image1.play-asia.com/350/83/pa.145857.1.jpg
US:Pictures for Dance Dance Revolution X (PS2) - Play-Asia.com
and DDR Extreme- JPN: http://image1.play-asia.com/350/PA.03223.007.jpg
US: http://image4.play-asia.com/640/6k/pa.118350.2.jpg
If you have tried the Japan versions are the animations in the game and the game play itself more revolved around anime?
I am just wondering because I love anime and if there is generally more anime inspired things in the Japanese versions I would import them.
Anyways, thank you for reading.

Also, in other cases, some times the features may be different (or that there may be a lack of it). In the case of DDR X for the PS2, the US version I think lacks the step edit feature (I'm not sure of it though).
So yeah, I hope that answers a part of your question

| No, it has the edit feature. What it doesn't have is the ability to export that data onto a USB drive.

The japanese version is almost exactly like the arcade version in appearance and songlist (if I remember well, it's one of the PS2 DDRs that has the biggest amount of songs). The US version is completely different, starting from the theme, taken from DDR Festival.

For instance the Jap DDRMAX2 has all the challenge songs along with most of their respective normal versions. DDRExtreme JAP also has about 110 songs, including all the new arcade songs (except for senorita) and a whole bunch of revivals from 1st mix up.

Especially in DDR X, the color combos do put Japan more advantage than US... (I mean if the combo judgment is a Great, the color of the combo number turns green)

I mostly play 1st/3rd/Extra Mix/MAX/MAX2/Extreme mixes nowadays though - all JP.
The thing about MAX US I liked over MAXJP was the existence of ONI mode, but the JP version I liked for the near-exact port from Arcade in terms of songlist.
