Default ATTN: LAS VEGAS RESIDENTS

I am moving there at the end of this month, and I would like to know what music games I can find there (besides DDR/ITG, since that's already a given), where the hot spots are, etc. The BMS locations seem...incomplete and DDRFreak is down at the moment, so any info would be great.

I'm really wondering about stuff like IIDX, Pop'n Music (I really want to try this game), maybe some others like...Dance Maniax :X.

All I ever hear when a schoolmate comes back from a LV trip is "OMG GAMEWORKS". Problem is just about everyGameworks, while having very good games...

1) Other than DDR, has a lack of Bemani games.
2) Uses the unpopular points-card system
3) Is HORRIBLY expensive (The standard for just about any Gameworks that has SuperNova is 26pts for 3 stages. Ignoring the bonus points you get for $5, $10, etc., $1 = 10pts. SuperNova is $2.60)
4) Gameworks LV is on the strip, if I remember correctly.

Other than that, I don't know. Maybe it's best suited for someone on here who actually LIVES in Vegas.

no, I believe they went out of business. I may be wrong. You could just drive over to Colorado springs. Biggs there has Pop'n Carnival, IIDX 8th, DM 10th, GF, KBM, etc,etc...

The arcade with all of the Bemani games at the Adventure Dome in Circus Circus was pretty much rented space from a local arcade owner. He decided to close the arcade and sell all of the machines in May of this year, I believe. I heard about this a few couple of weeks after I got back from a trade show out there. I no longer have anything to look foward to when going to Vegas next year.

The Gameworks is kinda blah. It's kinda dirty and usually not very busy. Last time I was there they had a GF1 and a DDR Extreme. I had to wash my hands after playing a pinball game.

I would be happy to know of places near the strip with Bemani games for me to check out next year (since I am guaranteed to work at least one trade show a year in Las Vegas for the rest of my career.)

MGM Grand should still have beatmania COMPLETE MIX 2 and ParaPara Paradise v1.1, in addition to two DDR machines.

Well, if you're anything like I was when I first came to Vegas two months ago, you'll be sorely dissappointed. A few of the highlights:

DDR SN in the Orleans and Gameworks (Version 1's; dunno when they're getting the update discs)
DDR 4th Mix, hiphopmania, PPP v.1.1 in the arcade in MGM grand
DDR MAX disguised as a 4th Mix Plus in the walkway from Bally's/Paris to the monorail
Best ITG2 machine I've run into is the one in South Coast- far from the strip, though.

Sahara also has an SN; however, I've been unable to confirm if they have the update disc or not.

Btw, does anyone know where the closest IIDX 12/13 is from Vegas? Is it within a day's drive?

well i actually live here, what exactly are you looking for?

the sn at the sahara doesn't have the update yet, btw.

circus circus's bemani games were being rented, but they are planning on buying their own. which one's, we still don't know. that's straight from the arcade op.

imo the best itg2 machine is at sam's town.

I'll officially be a Las vegas resident as of 10/21 (tomorrow). Flight leaves from SoFLA at 7:15 PM and I arrive at 9:30 PM (12 AM here) i've been looking around a bit more. It looks to me like i'll be hanging out at Gameworks and Orleans, mostly Gameworks since i'm almost VIP.

Arcade Infinity's about 3-4 hours away, give or take a few minutes.

You can count on all of the casinos having a DDR/ITG machine. Bemani? I don't know alot about Bemani. I DO know that The Orleans has a DrumMania machine or something like that.
