Default Gameworks, Tempe, SuperNova!

Went there last night with some friends and saw that they also have supernova!!! It's located in the back of the arcade by all the racing machines under the "feature game of the month" area. Pretty ridiculously priced at 26 units to play (10 units = $1.00, bonus units for more $$ spent) Thursdays have unlimited gaming after 9 for $10 tho...that'd be the day to go.

Yeah, Gameworks is pretty overpriced. Guitar Freaks 1st at the one in Tucson is $1.00 I think, and Extreme is $1.25. Ugh.

I haven't been to Gameworks in so long. It was the first arcade where I played DDR, good old 3rd mix.

That's where I first played too, and I still remembering shelling out $1.50 a game. But Jesus, $2.60? Fuck that noise.

Just discovered the Gameworks at Arizona Mills in Tempe just TODAY. (just moved to Gilbert from L.A. as of Tuesday. Yay.) Good machine, and 26pts. is a bitch. Actually was good, I ran into some jerks at the Extreme cab, something's fucked with the screen at the bottom, and the pad is bleh, at best. If anyone cares, I'm the hispanic guy with long hair and a backwards Mark Martin cap. For the time being with big ugly Aviator-esque glasses.

EDIT: Just for reference, this Gameworks does $10 Tuesdays, right? Anyone know the times?

So, this question isn't about a Game there but a drink that they used to have there..

There was this Iced Coffee Drink back in '98 called,"Bean Me Up" and I am looking for the Recipe to make it at home... So if you remember it and remember how to make it.. please post it. =)

The last time I'd been to the AZ Mills Gameworks was a few years back when their DDR Extreme machine was in horrible condition, but was significantly closer to my bike-bound self. I'll sure as hell be re-routing to there for arcading, and I hope they'll maintain the cabinets very well.

edit - Refering to Pop'n and IIDX.

Yea, the Extreme machine is still pretty terribad, the techs know about it and are going to replace all the sensors on the pads at some point in time (not too soon though, they are busy moving nearly every game for the big renovation).

I had made the same post about the new games on DDRFreak also on these forums, but I guess it hasn't been approved or something yet.

The games slated to come in are GuitarFreaks and DrumMania 5th Mix, Beatmania IIDX 14th Style, Pop n' Music 15th Mix and Rhythm Tengoku.

If you guys have any questions, ask away and I will get an answer as soon as possible.

EDIT: We do try to keep all the machines in good condition, the problem is that most of the time guests don't tell us when something is wrong with the machine for us to fix it. If you guys know a machine needs some work, post it here or tell someone that works there, usually it gets fixed within a day after that (unless the Supernova 2 screen decides to explode, in which it takes months to fix).

Mo, I should bring my Pop'n arcade controller over to your place some time so you can get plenty of practice in :3

Also, do you know why they're getting Gold instead of DJ Troopers? Is it because they're planning on getting Empress once it's released?

(Curse you busy server, eating my original post!)

I'm not sure why we're receiving 14th instead of 15th Style, I will ask when I go into work next. Me and a co-worker were pushing to get more rhythm games into the arcade, so the fact that we were slated to get 14th style came as a surprise to both of us (I needed new pants when I saw we were getting Pop N').

I don't think at this time Gameworks is planning on upgrading to Empress when it comes out. They're sinking a lot of money into this renovation, and we are all holding our collective breath over the next month or so, hoping it goes well. If it does do really well, seeing Empress show up at the arcade won't be a stretch of the imagination.

And lastly, yes, bring your Pop n' stuff to my place, I need some practice!
