I also point out to them that beatmania is about a decade older than Guitar Hero. I draw the same parallel to GF/DM.

In other news, does anyone know if the right side of IIDX has been repaired/improved? Does anyone else even play the right side?

The best part is when when kids do the following (while bragging to friends/girlfriend/boyfriend):

1. OMG a guitar hero machine! oh wait, it's not, dude 3 buttons this is cake!
2. put in Money
3. WTF this is all in whatever language this crap is
4. how do you make it harder?? this is probably way easier than GH coz it's only 3 buttons, that's too easy for me
5. *song starts* oh crap............*me giggles with a smile behind him/her*
6. *Concludes* This guitar hero rip off machine sucks, stupid songs are terrible, the gameplay sucks

I showed GF to my friends back in 7-8 years ago on PS1 (the good old cutie pie, happy man generation lol) when I was living in tucson, they gave me pretty much the same comments above, except replacing Guitar Hero references to *play a real guitar and better songs*. Now they all play Guitar Hero and telling me how awesome Guitar Hero is......

The 7th step involves them ignoring when someone else comes up that knows how to play.

I've had a couple kids say, "Wow, you must be really good at Guitar Hero!" after I play IIDX...

so true but they always come back once the they hear the following
Dragonblade
Fat Lip
Paranoid
Rock and Roll All Nite
Nemesis by Arch Enemy
Sound of Truth by As I Lay Dying
Almost Easy by Avenged Sevenfold

the kids always have to pick beginner or Battle mode each time i see one trying out GF

but seriously the dm is kinda hard to play cause the UFO Catcher is so bright and you can see it clearly when you use the Dark Modifier

IIDX is corded off for some reason. I got about the same response as I would've gotten at MGL when I asked why.

No, it's still on. They have the card reader turned off, though, and one of those line former looped around the machine.

Like I said earlier.

Edit - I guess too many people were leaning on the front of the machine, and they're trying to find a way to not have it come close to (if it hasn't done so already) snapping off. Thanks to DoublesGuy for not only knowing what the issue was, but also being a Gameworks employee that knows what I'm talking about when I say "beatmania".

uh oh
i lean on it too but not real hard just lightly (cause i'm tall and i have to stand akward when i play and it gets tiring to stand akward ) they should put out stools like MGL does cause it kinda better that way
