Yup, that's the one. IMO 5:12 onward should've been much longer.

And for those of us that were there yesterday, here's the collection of photos that Mark took.

As he put in his text to me - "Canon EOS 40D with a 50mm f/1.4 lens."

Also, I found Gigadelic [h] to give me much less of a hard time than THE SAFARI [h] does. Picture didn't come out, but this is the 8th dan.

edit - Picture taken with my phone, not the Canon EOS :P

Finally home now.

P1 button 2 on the GOLD machine went from being iffy to pretty much not working at all. Serujisu, Moo and myself nagged several employees several times to fix it, but it looks like they won't do it while there are still people playing.

With any luck it'll be fixed soon. Hopefully by Thursday for the unlimited pass night.

I had fun being your auto-scratch on the right side, though.

Yeah, it was nice to try hard songs that way. Don't need to get myself spoiled, though.

I remember playing Quasar [h] with auto-scratch on back when I was still working on 7s. I felt it was really helpful in learning where to place your hands, and knowing where each of your fingers can reach.

Is that a good way to get better? I can only do 5s but I've always left scratch on. Maybe I would get smarter with hand placement but I think then if I got to 7s and then put on scratch I would have to immediately be capable of pinky scratching which I can't really do well.

The best way to get better is to practice, really. Auto-scratch is a good tool to help you along the way, but by no means something you need, and definitely not something to rely on (Phillip... >_> ).

Once you get into doing standard mode, I've noticed the key hurdles you go through are from 5s to 6s, 8s to 9s, and then the biggest from 10s to 11s.

Within the last week I've gotten past that last one, myself.

edit - I've heard that Gameworks was actually doing work on the switches on the left side of IIDX. Anyone checked that out?

Good to know because I got to 5s pretty fast but suddenly hit a wall. Naturally my short term goal is normal Love is Eternity :p I have a US controller at home but hate the buttons with a passion so I'm going to have to suck it up and spend more time on it in between rounds of popn.
