Tourism in Japan

There is a strong possibility that this upcoming summer I'm going to Japan, I'm planning to stay in Tokyo. Can anyone recommend any hotels, points of interest, and other stuff to know about (such as arcades, places to shop, etc.).

This may seem awkward to put here but I can't think of anywhere else to go for this kind of advice.

Places to shop: Akihabara if you want electronics of any kind. (You can get there on the Yamanote line)

Arcades: Moai Game Spot in Ikebukuro. It's a bit hard to describe how to get there tho, you might have to look around a bit from the station. They have four IIDX machines and about as many Pop'ns and GF/DMs.

Oh alright awesome. Any hotels to recommend?

The only reason I have doubt to go is more of like a "waiting for airline tickets to go down before I go" so it really isn't doubt i'm just waiting for a good deal.

I *HIGHLY* reccomend "Shinjuku New City Hotel".

google the name, their rates are some of the cheapest, yet they provide great service, and it's right in the heart of downtown Shinjuku.

Added with that, literally about a 5 minute walk in any direction from the hotel gets you;

-multiple fast food places (both Japanese diners/fast food and american fast food like KFC, mcdonalds)

-three seperate arcades (one Sega games arcade, two Bemani-themed arcades)

-A laundromat and grocery store with both (again) Japanese and USA food/items

so yeah, check it out, i think you'll like it
