This might be a better place to post it.. Anyone have any idea if that US home release is coming here? I'd love to be able to buy the controller from a store instead of having to pay insane shipping rates from buying online.. I've emailed the AU PS2 site about it but haven't got any reply. (gee thanks Sony)
for the game/controller to come to our shores, a european version has to be developed (since aus runs on the same PAL as europe). plus it will hav a silly name like Beatstage or sum shit.
i wouldnt hold my breath waiting for it to come out. just take the plunge and buy one online.
No BM:US slated for Australian shores. As b00gey said, there needs to be a PAL release, which means it needs to be released in EU before AU. Since EU has no plans for it, neither does AU.
I've tried contacting KoAu about their thoughts on creating some sort of rhythm gaming faction but they are only interested in gaming machines (pokies). With a little persuasion, we could get something going though...
But I thought there was a PAL release? There was a post in the Beatmania forums by a guy in Austria or something, and he was looking for the PAL released beatmania and apparantly found it. :/
hes talking about the ancient 5 key beatmania of which by the sounds of things, there was a pal release. but its got nothing to do with what you were asking about beatmania US.

Yeah, somehow I figured that after posting and now feel like a total tool. >_>
Anyway, on what Loserbait said, why isn't the EU getting a release either?
The way I see it, it's beatmania:US for a reason.
Also, it was a terrible release anyway. Horribly rushed even if Ferrari was involved... They should have gotten someone who actually actively plays IIDX since, from memory, Ferrari doesn't.
In any case, you should just invest in the Japanese PS2 releases. They're far better and also include some of the BM:US tracks -- well, two...
I agee with allother statements. Buy a JKOC and import (or get in other methods) the japanese versions of the game. They're SO much better than the US release!. And hey, If you're really keen on playing some of the new release stuff from BMUS RED has you really got me and toxic on it.
