Instead of dispersing the machines to several different gaming companies for big profits, Snooj he turned down the offers of the "big guys" and accepted our humble offer to purchase them. It is with bitter sweet sorrow, that he has officially passed the torch to us at TGA. It is with humility and gratitude that I take the reigns, move forward and welcome all the wonderful amazing games, the beautiful pieces of art, the memories, the history and legacy of Power Up into Tokyo Game Action.

For those of you may be in shock, wondering why and how this happened, please take a moment to read the words of Snooj, himself here

The Power Up community will forever live on through TGA. I decided to take this project on because Power Up has always been a close affiliate of TGA. . The Maine crew has always been wonderful to us, they are our friends and family members, they have support us through thick and thin, and I / TGA will always do the same for them.

It's not very often when I boast about TGA, I always try my best to be humble. However, if there was a time to be confident and be firm, it's now. Snooj and I, both know with complete certainty there is no other place on this planet that is more qualified to understand, handle and continue the traditions, memories and legacy of Power Up. Through TGA, the community of Power Up will live on. We will not let the blood sweat and tears of this community go down the toilet. We at TGA will work and work hard to keep the spirit not only alive but make it stronger and allow the games to take their place as part and members of Tokyo Game Action.

To everyone at Maine: I promise I will treat these machines like they were my own children. I will cherish, treasure, respect and give them the up most care and attention. I am truly honored to receive this honor from you. I will always give you my best, just as I have always done.

As fate would have it, the next step of the TGA evolution was to include a classic American arcade and expand our Bemani / Music section. ITG has been a serious discussion at TGA for the past two years, as I've always said it will happen when the time is right. Well folks, I think we can all agree, the time is now right. Well, I guess someone up above is working because now we are all able to realize our goals at once and in an abbreviated time frame.

After Bowlmani fest, I contracted construction crews to renovate the back rooms, fix the boiler problem, expand the current game room, get the lounge started and make room fo more games. Yesterday we had crews here preparing for the big day, so when the big day comes, we will all be ready to start operations immediately.

Thank you Snooj and your family for this honor, thank you everyone that supported this community from day one, to everyone who believed, to everyone who sacrificed and gave their all, this is the fruits of your labor, hold your head up high, you have once again made gaming history.

So, coming back down to earth, this is where in order for your support means more than ever. We are entering a new era once again, TGA is moving forward. We need your support, we need you to spread the word about TGA.

Please make sure you thank and appreciate Snooj for allowing this to happen. He could have said no to our much less impressive and more difficult offer and padded his pocket with a nice hunk of cash. He CHOSE for TGA to move forward and make history. HE made this possible, like always he has put the community first.

Your smiles and laughter are priceless, our memories, your memories, the friendships will live forever. We have made history and now we will make more history, we will grow stronger and help more people. We will move forward with our community, let us celebrate and look forward to welcoming our new family members with open arms!

LET'S WELCOME THE NEW MEMBERS OF THE TGA FAMILY!

Yes folks, for the same $25 dollars, you now have over 17 new games to enjoy! Brining your grand total up to

XD, that makes me laugh.

Anyways, this just makes me want to go to TGA even more. Now if I can get a hold of enough free money, I might be on to something.

TGA is redefining what it means to be a 'great' arcade. I don't care what anyone says - someday TGA will have books written about it. Maybe it'll even appear in encyclopedias. For as long as I have seen it and 'known' the crowd, it has always stood for not just innovation but aspiration - TGA is never a solid form, but rather, it lives, breathes, and changes for the better.

My one visit there made me think back to when I first started 'serious' gaming back around 1999. It places a world of wonder in front of you and says, "Go ahead, play." I wish I lived closer. I wish I lived down the street. I wish I could afford to blow $50 to get there every weekend to play. Nowhere else on the planet has the same vibe. I'll play at the nearest arcade for hours, but it just isn't the same.

TGA is something epic, something people talk about but never bring to fruitition. It's inspirational, really - it has succeeded despite failed experiments of the same suit (I know others have attempted TGA calibur arcades before...), and it continues to move forward.

I hope that someday soon I will have something to contribute to the arcade. Because, in an odd way, my aspirations as a writer run alongside the path of TGA. I mean, not everyone can succeed, hell, most are going to fail at their own expense. But to go on despite that and succeed really says something...

/rant rant rant.

so does that mean everyone at Power Up in Maine has to drive down to TGA to play now or what, I don't get it.

Note: I live in MA anyway, I'm just asking; this is a little unclear. I don't even know where the hell Power Up is.

I know, it's just you're expanding upwards instead of downwards.

Still, congrats. Maybe this will improve the chances of more arcades later.

At this rate of spending and acquisitions by TGA, we can expect a TGA franchise in every major city by 2010. XD

Keep up the good work, I hope to one day soon make the trip to see the place.

Ive seen 4 of Power Up's arcade machines first hand and played on 2 of them (I live in Maine, so go figure, I've seen them). Last month I've never before seen PPP in action and was able to see Power Up's PPP machine, its quite neat. The DDRMaine community is saddened by the loss of Power Up and now we will have to resort the the Dream Machine's 7th and EX cabs for our Bemani fix.
