I wonder how long it will take for the old stepfiles to be re-submitted. I am only sad that I accidently deleted Samurai Hardbeat (steps by Polykarbonsan) and I cannot get it back now, and it's the only PKS song I am missing.

Fortunately I got all of Scor's files the week before the change-over *whew*

7.0 was in production since 2005, so I guess that answers your question. ^_^

I would suspect this has been reported already, but I'll point it out nonetheless. When I log in using the red box in the upper right corner, I get this error message:

However, clicking on the 'OK' button on the bottom of this pop-up will result in the login attempt going through just fine. Also, I would like to request that the 'Remember Me' box in this corner be unchecked by default, rather than checked by default as it is now. That way, people like myself who often log in from public computer labs don't have to worry about someone else getting ahold of our account info simply because we forgot to remove that check.

And I've got a couple of questions. I've figured out how to give reputation to others, but how can I view the comments for reputation that I have received? (I have 10 reputation, and I'm wondering where it came from.) Also, what do the numbers (1-8) below the user titles mean? Grey numbers evidently identify Moderators, and blue bars the site founders, but other than that I don't know what the purpose of the bar is.

I know someone will say this, so just for the record, I have looked in the FAQ already, and it doesn't contain any info on these two functions.

man, a lot of lost data. hope some of ya'll had a backup of your simfiles. I know I do. Lookin forward to some new and better stuff in 7.0.

It's dead, and keeping it up would weigh heavily on the sites bandwith. They are not going to keep up a site with that much crap for people to download. It's simply too expensive.

Guh. So 6.0 was put back up and taken down already. Great job of leaving it up long enough for people to notice. Last thing I was told was that an archived version of 6.0 would come after the 7.0 was de-bugged, and now I find out that wasn't the case and that the thing has already been up and down, and was up for a week or less. Great. I guess I'll have to give up on scavaging any data from my PMs from the old forums. Wonderful.

I can understand not having the media/sims/etc archived, but I'm still not happy that the forums aren't up as an archive. PMs aside there was a ton of great info in that board that is now lost.

There are such things as backups. I am pretty damn sure that Keith and djparanoia have backup copies from the database of 6.0. Which is what will be the base of the text-only version of 6.0, if the idea is put into a reality.

We are hoping to create a text based version of the 6.0 forums for archive purposes. There's no planned date on when it will happen but hopefully we will get to it soon.

Just out of curiosity, do you have a method of doing so planned, or are you still looking? If you're still looking, let me know, I'll do some snooping around to try to find a phpBB to text converter.
