Default DDR "Power "Preview + GHII Snippet

From Orange Lounge Radio

Quote:
On tonight's episode, we announced a partnership with Konami to promote upcoming Dance Dance Revolution titles on the XBOX and XBOX360 platforms with exclusive song premieres.

Debuting in the 4th quarter of '06 on the XBOX, Dance Dance Revolution: Ultramix 4 will contain a new "Power" mode accessible via a returning feature known as "Party" mode. "Power" mode will allow the user to play a Nonstop music course (four initially available), approximately five minutes in length. These new "Power" courses not only feature a stream of nonstop dancing arrows, but seamlessly mixed nonstop music. Long time fans of the DDR series will recognize this feature as one similar to a Nonstop mode featured in Japan-only arcade release "Dance Dance Revolution: Solo 2000".

Dance Dance Revolution: Universe, the first game in the DDR series for the XBOX 360, also scheduled for the 4th quarter of '06, will also contain this new "Power" mode with a completely different lineup of courses (four initially available). "Speed", "Sync" & "Quad" modes are some of the other additional features both games will contain in the "Party" mode.

Beginning Sunday, September 3rd, Orange Lounge Radio will be offering exclusive first listens of the new Power courses each week on Sunday night, along with bonus V-Rare track previews from the Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 4 V-Rare and the Dance Dance Revolution Universe V-Rare. The music will be debuted during our live broadcast of Orange Lounge Radio Live, which airs at 6PM Pacific Time. These preview listens will be re-broadcast on the syndicated run of Orange Lounge Radio Live, airing on All Games Radio ( http://www.allgames.com) the following Monday at 5PM Pacific Time and Tuesday at 9AM Pacific Time. The preview listens are exclusive to our live broadcasts, and will not be available on our Podcast feed.
Also worth noting that OLR reported last week that Ultramix 4 will retail at a cheapened $29.99 while DDR Universe was pushed back to December 2nd.

Edit: -[Keith]-

I added a couple new sections to the website. Artist Info and Song Info can now be found under the Game Related menu item. You can also get to these section by going through the Game Info Database.

The Artist Info shows all artists and their songs. The Song Info shows all songs and what games they were on. These two new sections are connected to each other as well as the Game Info database.

Edit: -[Reenee]-
From Joystiq: Guitar Hero 2 now has Guns N' Roses' Sweet Child O' Mine. And for the European people, GHII will be released "shortly after" November 7th (the U.S. release date).

Depending on the songs, this might actually convince me to look for a cheap Xbox/360 for the purpose of playing these. I got my start on the Solo series, and I still miss a lot of the things in it that we haven't seen since, like the Nonstop tracks. The lower price is just a sweetened deal on UM4.

So let me get something straight..I never played Solo so i have no idea. Are these nonstops different then the nonstops in DDR Extreme? Or are these like megamixes that just go on for a really long time. Someone clarify this for me plz.

A Solo-era "nonstop" from the games was a mix of (in those days) three songs into a three-minute long mashup. It sounds like these may run a little longer than that (especially given that we're talking home versions and not arcade, where Long Version rules apply.)

Yeah, it's also sorta like the Dance ManiaX extra stage (Jet World, Drop Out, and Paranoia Max all in the same 1:30), or DDR Megamix from Pop'n (which is about 2:30)

There's a chance Classic Party Triathlon could run unedited.

Well, i never played solo but i have heard the nonstop/megamix songs before...and honestly i didn't think they mended well. sort of like a lazy dj throwing a bunch of songs together for no reason at all. i'm sure someone out there played the songs before....where they any good?

They're still making X-Box games?

Well, at least it's a DDR game.

I've yet to play Ultramix...let alone get an X-Box. What are the "Speed", "Sync" and "Quad" modes? Online multiplayer? Or other random stuff?

I literally almost cried when I first heard this. DDR Solo Bass Mix was my first DDR ever, so this hits straight to the heart.

Doesn't one of these games have Potpurri d'Marmalade in it (or the other Potpurri song)? If so, that's a mix of songs right there and would work perfectly for it.

I don't know if anyone wants to put this up but DDRUK had a big robery on them. Around 25,000 Euros worth of stuff was stolen and they are asking for people to donate.

Why the 12 foot tall monster with no hands had a fire ring that fits everyone from you to your grandma will still be mystery to man.

Can't answer "Speed" and "Sync", but I can mention that Quad is horrifying.

Take doubles. Add two more pads. Proceed to wonder if this mode has ever been played.
