Remy has posted on his personal blog about a press release Sony sent out yesterday containing the tracklisting for the upcoming US PS2 release of Singstar. For those of you who haven't heard of the game yet, it's Sony's personal answer to Karaoke Revolution (or better Karaoke Stage) that has up until now has had little to no mention in the U.S. past the PS3 version being mentioned at Sony's E3 press conference this past may.
Fans of the Karaoke Revolution series might be surprised to learn that Singstar is regarded widely as a better game than Konami's outing. Thanks to stronger songlists, features like original music videos, and a very stylish interface it has appealed to the masses in the UK, and practically anyone else who's played it. The game is slated to come out on Nov. 14th at the standard $49.99 price tag for PS2 games, and will include 2 high quality microphones. Now for the songlist, which has been broken down by Remy to separate which european releases the songs original debuted in. From Singstar
Good Charlotte / Girls & Boys From Singstar Party
Scissor Sisters / Take Your Mama
The Police / Every Breath You Take
From Singstar Rocks (Europe)
Bloc Party / Banquet
Blur / Song 2
Coldplay / Speed Of Sound
Hole / Celebrity Skin
Jet / Are You Gonna Be My Girl?
Keane / Everybody's Changing
KT Tunstall / Black Horse And The Cherry Tree
Scorpions / Wind Of Change
The Hives / Hate To Say I Told You So
The Killers / Somebody Told Me
The Offspring / Self-Esteem
The Rolling Stones / Paint It Black
Thin Lizzy / The Boys Are Back in Town
From Singstar Anthems
Gloria Gaynor / I Will Survive
New To The Series
Aretha Franklin / Respect
B52s / Love Shack
D.J. Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince / Summertime
Dusty Springfield / Son Of A Preacher Man
Elton John / Rocket Man
Fall Out Boy / Dance, Dance
Gwen Stefani / Cool
Joss Stone / Super Duper Love (Are You Diggin On Me?)
Lynyrd Skynyrd / Sweet Home Alabama
Marvin Gaye / I Heard It Through The Grapevine
Naked Eyes / (There's) Always Something There To Remind Me
The Cure / Friday I'm in Love
The White Stripes / Blue Orchid

I...Am...The...ROCKETMAN....Rocketman....rocketman
Celebrity Skin by Hole? I guess the game will be rated Teen at least. I don't think singing about hookers and sluts is something they would rate E.

I'll never be happy with an all-license music game, though, so that's just me. Chances are I'll never play this, but it's great to see it having a stateside release.

Jesus Christ. The whole point is for them to put licensed content on there that people RECOGNIZE. Otherwise, it kind of ruins the whole point of the damn game.

And liscenced content people recognize? I propose Singstar All-Beatles Mix. Couldn't be that expensive to get; God knows that MJ could use the money right now. XD

But where do you come from saying Konami needs to get their own ideas? They are the ones who make the ideas, RedOctane made Guitar Hero long after Guitar Freaks was a hit. Which was infact Konami's idea.
Sorry for being off topic but this ignorance buggs me.
So, advice. Dont say things and put anything down if you know nothing about what you are saying.

They're going to be hard pressed to convince the american public that Guitar Freaks is not a Guitar Hero ripoff, but rather the game they originally made long ago.
As for going between Singstar and Kareoke Revolution, I've yet to see Singstar with my own eyes, but I didn't quite like Karaoke Revolution personally, it could've been made a lot better than it was. If Singstar took what was good about KR, and changed what was bad, then I see no problem with it. Personally, I didn't think KR ever fit into the Bemani brand anyway, seeing as it's developer was Harmonix.

But yeah, no later versions than that.
