Site Updates & Donating

So some of you may have noticed that things have been changing on the forums over the past couple of weeks. First was the removal of the reputation system, then infractions, then the user bars changing. Well it's all been a small part of the work that we've been putting into the site in order to get new features added, old ones fixed, and allow users to take better advantage of the databases we have setup. There's still quite a bit of work to be done, and we're moving on it, so expect relatively frequent updates on the state of the site as a whole.

A few of the things that were added recently have to do with token counts and the donation system. We don't really like to ask for donations too often, but the upkeep of the site and the server has been more of a strain on our wallets lately than it usually is. But rather than asking you all for donations outright, we just fixed the donation system on the site as a whole, to reward you for helping us out. Now for every $1 you donate, you get 50 tokens immediately added to your account on the site, on top of that, for every $25 you donate you get an added feature to you account.

$25 gets you V.I.P. rank
$50 gets you 10% off all token related items on the site
$75 gets you unlimited custom title changes
$100 on you'll just have to see

The totals are cumulative, the database automatically keeps a running tab of what you've donated, and whenever you reach a new $25 goal the option/feature is automatically added to your account.

For those of you who are avid simfile makers, we've also added an option for you to increase the filesize limit for your simfile uploads. Check out the submissions page for information on that.

Back to the tokens for a second though. Since we've now added the ability to increase your token count by donating, we're also gonna be rolling out more things for you to spend them on. The first of these is the flash arcade we've added to the site. In the Forum tab of the top menu, there is now a link to the arcade. All games are 10 tokens per play, and keep tabs of all high scores on the site, getting a high score even nets you some more tokens to use. If the arcade proves popular enough we'll start holding "tournaments" as well. Also, if any of you have any suggestions for games to add, just let myself or Keith know and we'll look into it.

What if we are mods and we want to donate? What can we get, better powers (or in the Sims Mods case: ACTUAL POWERS)?

Moderation abilities are not a part of this, as stated, it's an automatic update to the account, not us going in and physically changing things. Besides that, selling moderation powers would be completely against our policy regarding staff, so don't expect it to ever happen.

It's cause you're in the FB Ban usergroup. You should be able to play now.

just when i downloaded 15 gigs of mame roms, pretty much just to play pacman. now i can just play it here.

and if anyone beats my tetris score, i will stab you once for every time i have to go back to that clunky interface just to beat your lucky score
