Everything is going to be brand new. For a few days, there will be the temporary archive.... I'm not quite sure if there'll be a more permanent (text-only) version of the old forums, but we'll see.
Converters do exist. Why were things done this way, out of curiosity?
There are plenty of reasons as to why. The biggest of which has to do with server load. Other reasons include:
The old token system wasn't compatible
The old sims database wasn't compatible
95% of the stuff on 6.0 was literally crap by now, the other 5% I'm sure will be saved
Because we decided that we wanted to start fresh
We're aware that there are converters. There just wasn't enough justifiable reason for us to try and get everything moved over, and since we wanted a guarantee that we wouldn't have ANY problems server wise when 7.0 opened, we decided that the fresh start was the only way to do that.
I don't know if you read the headlines at all, but keith put 6.0 back up for the week so you can salvage threads. Check the "bms 6.0" headline.
