It was part of an advertisement that came up at the bottom. Ive had these ads come up before on a forum that I moderate. I can tell you that these ads leave spyware on your computer. Theyre also just really annoying to deal with.
I didnt get the page source, so I cant really tell you where it came from, but I suggest looking into these ads and removing them. I found that the odds of getting these ads are pretty rare, so good luck trying to get the ad again.
Just thought Id give a little notice.

Try checking your computer with the usual tools (Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, HijackThis!, etc etc)

Plus, check the window that shows in the screenshot... it says "amaena.com". It must be something related with that site... I tried going to that site in Linux and nothing happened. I don't want to know what would happen in Windows...

Try checking your computer with the usual tools (Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, HijackThis!, etc etc) | No, theres an ad at the bottom of the page related to this window. Not to mention it stops the browser from doing anything until you click it.
Once you click cancel it lets you do whatever you want, but once you click refresh or go to a new page, another one comes up saying that you canceled, blah blah blah.
Like i said, the odds of getting the ad is pretty slim, but it still comes up.

On-topic: since you ARE in fact using firefox, do you have Adblock installed?
Edit: and also, if adblock doesn't work, maybe try Opera web browser: Homepage I think Opera is a better browser than Firefox, I've been using it for about 4 solid years now and I don't get adware, spyware, viruses, unwanted popups, anything.

Since it's happened to more than one user, it might very well be something to do with our ad company.

Basically, a virus that is in the wild means that it's possible that you can get it on your PC without knowing it.
And I believe Keith is looking into getting a new ad provider, so hopefully these ads will be gone soon.
