Total Tokens: 415.97 Donate Tokens | file limit too small i've just tried to upload a stepfile to the database, after a lot of requests.
i have no idea why the file is popular, but it is. :s
the site says the file is too, big, which is just bizarre.
it's 12 megs, which is average for a stepfile with a decent-quality video.
what's the meaning of this?
the default limit should be 15 megs.
this is just a feeble excuse to get money out of people.

But the new version is now 10mb... It was pretty much I felt err... dammit. Waited for a something that enable over 10mb then donate 10 dollars was kool idea (BTW this was back when v7.0 was launched) since I get what I wanted 30mb limit, and bemanistyle get 10 dollars (USD dollars so I actually paid more on Canadian dollars hehe...) so I contribute the site at least.
-Opps.... forgot other currencies after Akira's post
Well... if can't donate that 10 dollars then you the options of: Don't upload
-simple Upload without Video
-That gives the upload of music, graphics, and stepfile but no video Upload the Video into a Free-One-Click-Server
-Then you can upload the stepfile, graphics and music into the database and post a (Rapidshare, Megaupload, Yousendit, SendSpace) download link on your video in the simfiles description Upload it to Another Site
-I think, I'm pretty much going get bashed on it, if I mention other sites for simfile database. But I won't since Bemanistyle is always been no.1 (my home) Simfiles Database

sorry to say that it's just up to 10MB per upload here. But yeah, Jubo said it all. If you want to, you can just sacrifice some of the mp3's or the AVI's quality to make it lower than the quota. Jubo, he cannot donate dollars, but he can donate euros
just kidding lol
EDIT: rage*, i'll be moving this to the help forum a little later after you read this so you won't wonder where this thread is

It is a lifetime membership, your account filesize limit is increased to 30MB per simfile, and it's only ten bucks. So, if you want to support Bemanistyle, and be able to upload high quality simfiles with excellent quality audio, or just extremely long simfiles, you might want to consider this, rather than an external hosting option. http://www.bemanistyle.com/help.php?h=sims_limit

I don't want to pay the $10 not because I can't afford it, but because I feel that contributing quality simfiles to Bemanistyle is contribution enough without also having to pay to contribute to the site. It's the principle of the thing.
I know you could also consider hosting people's simfiles to be a service in itself, but I think the simfile database also serves to attract people to the site, especially when people contribute quality files to it.
I can understand that in a situation like this each side feels like they're the ones providing the other side a service, so I might just have to agree to disagree. I just feel it's not fair that the ones contributing should also be the ones who have to pay when the majority of the bandwidth by far is used up by people who only download and don't contribute.

Also you say your simfiles are quality which may be true, but we all know that not all the simfiles that are uploaded are good quality.

I'm just saying why I dislike asking the people to contribute for money on general principle - I'd rather just degrade the quality of my videos and let the people who download deal with that. | |
